I'm a big Carmichael fan but Pastrana is the best, most talented motorcycle rider of all time in my opinion.

Just incredible. The dude is a living legend. Hopefully RedBull gives him whatever he wants after that . . clearly the highlight of the event!

0 fucks given!!! Like a boss. I so wanted to see him & Stewie in the finals, he just been out of racing to long. He made it sound like if they do this again hell practice more. I'll bet he builds one at his house lol.
He was fast but his two stroke was not the better bike on a hardpack track. I predicted he wouldn't win any of the heats (gladly proven wrong the one time), and that was because thumpers hook better on hard terrain.

When Hansen won the third heat he motioned his hand like you do when you're swapping all over the track. Was that directed to Pastrana?

I suspect it was scripted and Red Bull knew he was going to do it and probably made the jump after the finish line specifically for him to do it. None the less it was pretty darn awesome!

A jump made specifically for Travis to backflip?

You ever seen him backflip off the side of a whoop before?

Travis qualified 8th and Hanny was 9th so they were the closest matchup in the first round. There were others he probably could have beaten in the first round but it just didn't work out that way. I'm just glad I got to see him run and that he was able to walk away at the end of the day.

That has to be the first time a 500 has ever been flipped during competition, right? Not just pro racing but ever in the history of 500s that it has been flipped (on purpose).

I doubt it, after the third heat Hansen mentioned that he had nothing for Pastrami in the whoops. Hansen got super buck in the first or third heat thru the hoops, I think that's what he was hand signalling about. Little Hill did a similar hand motion after he Orenthral James'd the finish.

I have said it before Travis could back flip over a Q tip. Laughed hard when RJ said Travis back flips outta bed in the morning.

Before he switched to Yamahas, Robbie Maddison was doing distance jumps and FMX stunts on a CR500AF. I've definitely seen video of him backflipping one before.

He made up all his time in that last whoop section. He was crazy fast in those whoops!

Travis has a different definition on life than most of us - he brings a smile to my face even when he was in the booth!

The crowd went apeshit when he did that in his win over hanny... that event wouldn't have been the same without that dude.

When did he race Bubba? Thought he was done first round and that was it? Video of bubba and Travis? Spent some time with TP in Oklahoma one winter when he first got into rally. He is not built like the rest of us. He does not know what fear is period. I think what pain feels like to us feels like bliss to him.

saw the backflip and almost crapped my pants with enjoyment! That man has brought more smiles to moto fans than any other rider ever has, or ever will!
It was good seeing those yellow hand guards out on a track again!

I was watching it with a friend who doesn't even ride and he was super pumped on pastrana. He got a little bored after that until the racing got tighter again.

They should have let Pastrana and Stewart race one another after competition was done. Just for the fans, they would have appreciated a lot!

For some reason, when I was hid away at work checking my phone and saw a video titled, "Travis Pastrana does a backflip at Red Bull Straight Rythm", I wasnt surprised... Wink Laughing
His speed through the whoops, that was just insane. I could never dream of holding my 125, 6th tapped through a set of whoops/rollers like that, let alone 5th tapped on a 500 2t!
