Yes! A 180 bowl turn is needed!

At each end. Then add some 90 degree corners and up/down hills.

Now we'd just have to dream up a name for it……..

But what about spectators. You either see the start, the finish, or a part of the mid section, is that so exciting? I heard there is a plan to take straight rhythm to drags strips, Can it work? I dont think so, personally I cant see how this can be anymore than a cool once a year exhibit. Thoughts?
I agree. Events like this and the MEC with things like the Joker Lane and so on are only good as one-off or once a year events.

If they had a big screen like at the sx races it wouldn't be so bad. So if your spectating toward the end of the rhythm you could just watch the TV until they get within range to see in person.

It's the same guys that were complaining about the Monster Girls if that helps any.

this being RedBull, i think you will have plenty of ways to view the racing no matter where you are on the course. they do not go cheap on the details. Big Screens will likely be spread out along it, but we will have to see Saturday

Regardless, Red Bull is trying to help grow the sport that we love, so if it isn't "perfect" don't fucking complain. It will be better next time.

It is my opinion that those who go in person will be treated to an amazing atmosphere and show, but I don't think it really matters.

Who is more important, the 10, 20, or even 70,000 people who may pack a site to see it live or the hundreds of thousands that view it on TV? The X Games does just fine and from my experience the event is less than spectacular live, but presents great on TV and allows athletes to get the coverage they need to bring in more dollars and more sponsors.

I don't think it'll be an every weekend tour, but I do think you will see it continue and have a handful of events every season. The money, exposure, and treatment will be good enough to get many top riders to want to do it as well.

Don't be a smartass, I'm dead serious. It can be dropped in any city in the country, NYC ATL Los Angeles you name it, it could theoretically be placed anywhere, which is something we've never been able to do with Moto (sx is different story, it's in a stadium)'

If red bull utilizes all their potential marketing and connections to make this deal really take off... up the payout from 100 to 500k..Could be huge.

Do not thing of this side show as a negative thing, it could be THE TICKET to making mx and sx bigger in the USA, and it's still your racing heroes, not freestylers.

Red Bull is only trying to help grown their profits...they don't give a shit about this sport....if it doesn't make them a certain percentage...they will drop it.

Red Bull rocks they give us shit like Rampage 2014-I would love to see this live.

So what Red Bull wants to make a buck-its what anyone in business wants to do. It seems very clear that Red Bull lives and breathes action type sports and their business plan is working.

Monster needs to do more innovative stuff like Rampage-Straight Rhythm, although Monster chicks are the best.

The start is going to be at the end of the regular drag strip. The finish will be where the start is in drag racing, so riders will be racing to the crowd and the crowd will be at the finish.

Hmm, you maybe be better of spending your bucks on reading tuition rather than "WiFi" Your point has zero to do with my post, it is just a slander.

If this was possible, it would be an amazing showcase for the sport of MX. I just think the logistics are to difficult to do it. 800m strip of straight road with maybe 10,000 cubic meters of dirt moved in and then out, spectator safety, closing roads from 3 to 5 days. having local businesses and authorities approve. That a massively tall order

2 Days
One side of the strip, only.
Downtown Vegas would be even easier (the old strip).
Could do it at Mandalay, too.

I dont understand where the confusion is coming from. You said it right in your post, it's gonna be at a drag strip. What are drag strips used for when they're not used for a 30-45 second motocross straight rhythm? They're used for 6 second drag races Plenty of fans turn out to watch this, why would people be more disgruntled about an event of the same length that lasts way longer??

Does anybody remember the Fast cross series in Europe that Larry Ward used to dominate? I thought that was the coolest one off event ever and I'm sure that the Straight Rhythm will have a similar feel. I cant wait!

You could be right, I am not saying my point is absolute, thats why I asked for opinions. I guess I would never have a desire to make an effort to go to a drag race, so I relate to it different. However, I can't wait to see straight rhythm this weekend in video format
I really hope it can be made into a successful series.

Will be exciting to see how many riders can keep their concentration over those endless whoops long enough to reach the end in one piece. Terminal speed will probably be much faster than a normal SX race. Mis-cues and get offs could be pretty huge at those speeds. I hope everyone stays healthy so as not to miss MEC and A1.
