Cool deal...You have the best of both worlds. I have been thinking about picking up another 450 to go with my 125 and 250 smokers. They all have their place.

Congradulations on the zook.. Give us a good ride report after you get some time on it. I bought a new 14 honda 450(first 4 stroke)...

I bought a new 14 honda 450(first 4 stroke) but almost got the zook instead.
Btw, i love my crf, its everything and more i thought it would be. I just rode a buddies new 14 yz 450 today and didnt like it at all, but the suspension was amazing and it had power for sure, but couldnt come to terms with how tall it felt and the front end traction was terrible..anyway..

Congradulations.

Can you elaborate on the front end traction issue?
Sure, the front end pushed very badly almost everytime i leaned it over to corner, so i resorted to pulling in the clutch entering turns and that helped but it still pushed.
It also almost washed out completely on me 8 or 9 times, all within a half hour of riding. I just couldnt get the front end to bite for shit.

The bike felt like a skyscraper to me and if also felt heavy anytime i was under 20 mph. At speed it felt lighter.
The rear end also felt very light..too light and there was a lot of linkage noise when breaking over rough ground. Im just used to my honda, its set up for me, the sag, suspension, bars, levers, fork height and tire pressure are set up the way i like.

The yamaha was new with only 6 hours on it and i dont kniw if he set it up at all, so that could be part of it.
But i just couldnt get traction or hit any lines with any regularity like i do on my honda.. i was actually scared to lean the bike over at speed..

Haha California might as well be Canada with tax and license. People pay $9500 all day long out here. I was gonna do the 14 route but I'm not hurting for money so I decided to just get the 15. I couldn't be happier!

I saved a bunch of $$$ by getting my 2009 RMZ450 when the 2011s were out.

I regretted it since the bike was improved over those years, and some of what you save you loose again when its time to sell down the line.

that said, ive heard $5800 OTD on the 14s and that's a great deal on a great bike.

since it will be winter here soon, I will wait until the spring and get a 2015

That seems odd to me considering Cali is the center of the MX world, and you're closer to Japan! Laughing

Sick! I got mine last month and I'm in love with it! It is so much better than the old models. I had a 12, 13, 14, and now a 15, and the 15 doesn't even compare to them. It is so much easier to ride. It feels like a factory bike! Get some Dunlop mx32s and a yoshi on there and the bike will be even more incredible!
Can you speak on the reliability of the bikes.
