Sorry to thread jack...but I have the Chad Reed jersey from Atlanta 2011. If anyone is interested I will consider selling it. Offers welcome, although if you are offering less than $500 you might as well forget it. Would like to see $800-1000.

Dont really have to sell, but when you owe over $40k in student loans you will consider some crazy things. e-mail is jre5083@yahoo.com, this is not my paypal though, its an old junk e-mail I keep.

You guys are ridiculous with some of these prices.

First off Chad Reed didn't give you that jersey so that you could demand 800$ for it. ANd why you think that, outside of a charity auction, a normal race jersey by Reed is worth that much is beyond me. Maybe if it was a championship winning jersey with a #1 from the podium, ya, but just any ol race? Nope.

You guys are lucky to even get your hands on these jerseys let alone being able to sell them off for a profit. I used to talk to Stephane Roncada frequently and he was kind enough to post me one of his jerseys because he knew I couldn't be at the races across the pond. I wouldn't even dream of selling it no matter how bad my finances became, things like this should be treasured if you're a true fan of the sport.
EXACTLY. THat's why some riders won't give away jerseys. I've heard them flat tell kids in the pits "WHy so you can sell it?"

If you get it from a charity auction, that's different, sell away. But if a rider is nice enough to give you a jersey form a race, cherish it and keep it.

totally agree that these things should be cherished and fans not exploited, some guys seem to have a load of swag....never thought it would be that easy to get hold of

I hate selling them, Trust me..... But when you are in a bind it is just something you have to do.....

Completely agree. Don't think I'll ever let go of my memorabilia. Maybe if I could get $800 for my '11 Reed jersey like the fella on page 1 said he'd like for his, but we all know that will never happen. Mine was bought also, not given to me by Reed himself.

tell ya what...pay attention the next time an auction goes on at eBay and see how much a JS7, Reed, Dungey or Villopoto jersey goes for.

They go for $700-1200+ easily.

I BOUGHT this jersey, so if I want to SELL it then I have every right. And I do plan on getting more jerseys in the future, but being in my mid 20s I am willing to sell this one for some cash now. I dont need it, but it wouldnt hurt. I do plan on having RD, Reed, Stewart, RC, Mc, Villo, etc jerseys in the future and I will keep them, but lets face it jerseys are for sale all the time, so I can always get another one later.

I suppose it is different if you were acquired it through a second hand purchase. I'd just assumed with the photo you included of the block pass that you were the one he originally gave it to... altogether different story since you were already a few links down the sale chain.

I have some pretty strong connections into the industry that I've tried to keep current through the years, but for some reason I've just never had the gall to acquire jerseys. I've been in a number of factory semis over the years, and have seen piles of the stuff laying around, but just have always thought it would be extremely tacky if I asked, like it would ruin the conversation or something.
The one thing I did not mind doing was picking up Barcia's helmet in the rigso that I could admire TAGGERs work. (Yes I just name dropped)

They are worth what the buyer is willing to pay. Might be worth $50 to some people $1000 to another, depends how bad you want it.

Selling jerseys don't bring in the money that other sports would, unfortunately. At the price it costs to sell jerseys, it's better to just keep them. So many memories just by simply looking at one jersey, it's a shame to get rid of one for $30-40 bucks. Unless it's for a charity of some sort (or you just don't care for them), keep them and enjoy the memories.

So let me get this straight for all you guys that are talking shit to those that do choose to sell the jerseys that they have acquired. You mean to tell me that if you were swimming in debt and desperately needed money to pay bills, put food on the table, etc, that you would rather keep your jersey's instead of feed your family? Yeah, right.

I had about 20 different Andrew Short Fly jerseys at one time, ranging from his days on Motoworld Suzuki #41, Factory Honda 250 #51 & 450, Chapparal Supercross.com Honda and his stint with Factory KTM. They were all race worn and meant very much to me. But, I lost my job, and when push come to shove, the jerseys were just that, jerseys, and putting food on the table was much more important than something that was just sitting in a closet collecting dust.

Free shipping if I offer $222.22? I mean, I would have to wash the one you have, it's dirty after all....Wink

These are completed listings, doesn't appear as if the Reed jersey sold.

Go down the list to see some that actually sold. Stewart fetched $79.00.

A lot of those jerseys are replica jerseys that you can buy and have signed Newman.
Not nearly as cool as the real thing.

Lots of cool jerseys in this thread though.
