Has it ever been done before? I can't think of any former champion prior to RV who spent their entire pro career on one brand, Ward and Bailey are about the closest I can think of.

Glover, as long as you don't count his one year on KTM in Europe. I think it was '88 or '89. Last year of his career.

I was counting that. Bailey and Ward both raced other bikes early and then, well shit. I forgot about Ward on Supermoto. Bailey is the closest, Glover threw his record away going to Europe.

What about Stanton? I think his first year pro was a partial season after LL's on a private Yamaha. Does that count?

Yeah, I guess he would be in there with Bailey, I thought he was on 500s for a couple of seasons on a air cooled turd.

Bailey - Lots of years and an amateur title on Bultaco, then 2 or 3 years on Kawasaki, 5 on Honda.

I thought it was only one year pro on a Kawi. RV was on a Kawi at the end of his am career, was he on KXs from 60s on?

I got it! TP199!!' Have you ever seen him ride any thing but a Suzook? And Subaru definitely doesn't count, they don't even make bikes.

I know y'all are talking SX/MX, but Johnny Campbell has been contracted with Honda for 20 years.

They made engines for Hodaka but that doesn't count because it's only the engine. They also make engines for Polaris but that doesn't count either because they aren't bikes! Yes I know Polaris owns Victory but they don't make dirt bikes! Man this is fun.

Canard was Team Green all thought amateurs.... It was a pretty big deal when he flipped to FC Honda instead of singing with PC Kawasaki.

But as far a Pro goes..... Trey would be the ideal guy to keep forever and give a legacy deal to like McGrath has now. Does some PR, rides and test prototypes when he wants to

trying to think of rider s ,even tho most have rode different brands at different times , there seems to be a lot of SUZUKI guys ,who will always be Suzuki guys over most brand eg, Gebores, Albertyn, TP199, RC, Bervotes, Dewit, Ramon, Smets, Barnet, then Decoster even tho his at KTM, I think the first brand you think of with rogger will always be yellow. even current riders like desalle and strijbos, and most resent K rock, Have all very strong ties to Suzuki, cant think of another brand to have that , maybe Honda , ???

Not sure about the accuracy of the rest but I'm pretty sure Roger D rode CZ's at the beginning of his GP career and ended it on a Honda. Suzuki was the cream filling in the middle.Smile

Yup, crazy how those PW50's could holeshot 125cc 2-stroke's, 250f's, 250cc 2-strokes, 450f's and occasionally 500cc 2-strokes on the start straight...even in "the pro's".

BOOM!, lol!

Barnett raced amateurs on Hondas for my families dealership, B&E Cycle Sales, now B&E Honda in Valparaiso, IN. Cool fact, they have Barnetts' amateur championship bike on display inside the dealership. Crazy how far the bikes have come since then.

Hmm, Mike Bell comes to mind. Entire pro career on Yamaha.
