Yes I was thinking that I would check that, thanks. I'm going to lean out the needle one position and look at the power valve while I am at it.
I noticed the biggest difference leaning out the needle. Give it a try, you might go back to a 175 or there about.

Except for the 18" rear, and the MASSIVE dent in the pipe, it's a good looking bike.

My CR250R is going well, what was ONCE a "2nd" bike has become more and more a "main" bike. I absolutely love it.

Still not completely settled on jetting, the bike LOVES fuel...TONS of it. I did order several keihin needles to just test out and see how the bike reacts.

I couldn't tell you, I've read a million times about matched cases, but I would wait for someone much more qualified than me to speak on it.

I think you guys may have it a little incorrect here." Matching cases " isn't what it sounds like......getting your cases matched means taking the ones you have , getting them machined down and other work if needed for a complete seal. If done correctly it can add a little more more power ( obviously less than what a port job would do ) but it's done to make sure there are no air leaks and so forth. Some cases come from the factory with really small air leaks and so forth , which slightly affects the motors.

That " used " to be the case with the older bikes , but now days I'm not sure any of these newer bikes need it so much. The tolerance levels on these newer machines are a lot tighter i think than the old days. I sent a couple motors to Tom Morgan back in the day 97' - 99' and he did the full port jobs and matched the cases and all the other good stuff. If the bike in question is an older CR 250.....it may benefit from getting the cases matched. Some bikes are worse than others.

I do know that if your buddy orders a case, it comes assembled and complete!

An 04 .cr 250 that's in good condition can hang with any modern 450 on any track.
