New magazine that focuses on 70s-80s vintage bikes, from street, to mx, to road racing and more. My buddy stopped by with a copy for me and I was like a kid in a candy store! lol
It has a story of the history of the first CR's, complete with secret spy photos of the prototypes, same for the 73' Z1 900 Kawasaki, Interview with Greg Primm, a little story about a vintage road racing Z1 (VERY cool) a Malcolm Smith interview and more. It even has a Roger DeCoster poster included.
Anyone bought it yet?

Motorcyclist Retro is a bit of a personal mission of mine, a dirt and street magazine that focuses on the glory days of motorcycling - 1965 to about '85 - and which focuses primarily on Japanese machinery and culture.
Obviously, the American and British iron has been - and is - covered well. But for whatever reason, the Japanese invasion, the bikes that most of us grew up on and lusted after, has been mostly ignored. Our goal is to cover the great bikes of this era in a way that hasn't been done before; to dig deep and bring to light the details of development, the impact they had on the market, how they relate today, and how to keep them running and vital in the 2000s.
Issue two is out on stands now, and issue three will be out in December.
Better yet, we're going to be bi-monthly in '09, and will offer subscriptions at www.motorcyclistretro.com in a few weeks when the site goes live.
Thanks for the support, and feel free to email us at classicmail@sourceinterlink.com.

Those fork tubes are sooooo skinny it hurts to look at them
But what did they know back in the day?
Love that era.
Thanks!

Unfortunately, issue one is gone. Our publisher wasn't confident this magazine had any legs (even though we all know there are many, many thousands of guys and gals who would love a monthly magazine like this, and would be willing to pay for it), so they didn't print any extras, which they normally do for just this purpose - back-issue sales. It's too bad, too, cause if they'd kept a few thousand extras, they'd have made a ton more money on it. Oh well...me and my publisher talked until we were blue in the face, all to no avail. Anyway, issue two is out now, and issue three will be available in mid-December. Look for sub info on motorcyclistonline.com or motorcyclistretro.com shortly; next month or so.
Thanks!
Mitch
