Other than vague references to 'a medical condition' has JS or anyone in the know actually mentioned Adderall or ADHD anywhere? I have yet to see it but would love someone to prove me wrong and show me the interview/press release. GuyB?

I love the way the JS fans have assumed he's innocent and its just ADHD and a prescription for it. That makes it all fine and the whole situation is just the FIM and WADA's fault, or its a conspiracy against him. JUst a paperwork error by someone on his team and definitely not his fault.

The only FACT I'm aware of is that JS tested positive for amphetamine, and he claimed it was there because of a treatment for a non-specific long term medical condition. The rest is purely conjecture at this point, is it not? How are you guys so sure he's taken Adderall for ADHD?

Unlikely to be pure coincidence. Malcolm was suffering severe dehydration, was that after the IV lady got refused access?

Lighten up, jokes are only funny when you let them be funny. I'll happily make fun of anyone, including myself with ADD.

I'm not sure I buy that argument. For a couple of reasons. One, he apparently had a TUE for outdoors, so there would be no advantage to going off of his meds for the remainder of the outdoors and it wouldn't help his case with FIM either way. What's done is done. Secondly, no one knows what type (or if it is even) ADHD medication that caused his positive test. There are types of ADHD meds that are out of your system within a day, with no side effects. I know this from trying different ADHD meds with my son to get him adjusted. And beyond that, I am not convinced that taking ADHD meds, if James has that condition, would actually help his racing. Again, ADHD meds tend to mellow ADHD sufferers and that isn't necessarily conducive to racing better. My son tends to ride faster off his meds than on. But each person has their own reactions, etc, so I could be totally off base too...

I gave the very same opinion in a thead about James a week or so ago and was told I didn't know what I was talking about. It doesn't matter if we're dealing with a narcotic or a non-narcotic, every medication used to alter a behavior WILL produce withdrawal symptoms when the long-term user suddenly quits takine the medication instead of being under a doctors care for supervised tapering off of dosage.

I believe if the truth were known...this is spot on.

James mentioned in a brief explanation right after things happened that he was taking a prescribed medication to curb an attention problem that he had been suffering from for a long time. But, the drug name "Adderall" was never specified.

Wasn't Mookie seriously sick? There was an Instagram shot of him in the hospital at one time.

like the one that is printed in the magazine this month??? was a good read, says that it was just a misunderstanding of the process on his part. He got emotional at the end where he was talking about how much he hopes this does not reflect on the people around him, especially his brother

Thank you. He's actually said he was taking Adderall. At least that bit of the story can go in the FACT section now.

Have we even seen that confirmed anywhere else? Did Transworld pay James for the exclusive interview Oprah style? Or did they just happen to be there before the gag order went into effect?Shocked

I thought it was a pretty good interview, and I thought James explained his situation (with the ADHD) pretty well. It all sounds legit, however, I still have to ask: Why was there no TUE? Who dropped the ball?

I see the emotion to mean that James is extremely loyal to those who are loyal to him...even when a mistake by one of them has been such a monumental one, or has turned out for his loss. I doubt very seriously that you'll hear him throw anybody under the bus for the error. I don't think he's made that way. He's willing to fall on the sword and shoulder the blame rather than to hurt some one who's close to him.

It's kind of outrageous and unprofessional, the muzzling that goes on in this sport.

This guy gets paid millions and millions of dollars to represent sponsors in sport that is followed internationally, and you can't ask him about testing positive for PEDs? It's not like these are rumors!
Out of all the BS, this IS one thing that fans have a right to now about: what is the status of the sport's biggest star in the wake of being caught cheating.
This is journalism, not PR.
