I acquired a 84' kx 250 last year that was in need of some work and a few missing parts. I'm slowly working on building the thing back up. I didn't feel a need to do a full resto since the frame has little wear near the footpegs and the factory frame stickers were still in place. I tell you what, finding an exhaust for one of these bikes was no easy task! I got lucky and found one in TX while on vacation a few months back. The bike has all the original plastics that are in fairly good shape (other than the extra holes drilled in the left side cover...airbox mod?). Id like to find a different carb for it. The one that was on it when I got the bike had some strange repair done on the intake side. Looks as though it somehow got cracked. Cylinder was sleeved at some point so a rebore with a .030 piston will do the trick. Only things left to get will be a original front brake master cylinder, rear brake spring, silencer, new rubber, fork boots, and some decals. Oh and the original front fender brace that seems to be non-existent on ebay. If anyone here is hoarding some parts for this bike, let me know.

You should be able to find a round slide Mikuni for it fairly easy. I think you need a 36mm. You might like it more with a 38 PJ Keihin carb. Good luck!
wanted one sins that and now they are hard to find, 84 KX 250 is best looking Kaw and that numberfender is so MX.
Looking forward for moore photos and good luck badfish
I got a Pj 38 for no use.
