MX Large is at it again.

Of course 2015 will see the introduction of Ryan Villopoto into the series and not only will the American Supercross champion be involved, but we have a schedule that is bordering on perfect (add Namur and it’s pretty perfect in my eyes).

Anyone know if there is truth to this? And what does "be involved" mean?

as much as I'd hate to see him leave, i would absolutely love to watch him race overseas. i think it would be great for the sport and bridging the unreal competition on both sides of the Atlantic

Heard from yet another source - and despite all the hype and hope - that Ryan Villopoto won't actually be a GP rider after all

Has anyone had the chance to walk to grounds of Namur? Check out a you tube video of a past race! I would book a flight if that was announced. I don't know if they could get insurance for that race in this day and age.

Like Geoff Meyer OTOR's Adam Wheeler's ear is pretty close to the ground so I will have to dejectedly say I put more stock in OTOR's report that MX Large's. What I don't know is WTH is all this subterfuge about? After the will RV ride the Nationals or won't he circle jerk I am not in the mindset to be jerked around by Villipoto about another series. RV as I remember said one thing one week and next week it was completely different with him NOT racing the Nationals.

RV get over yourself and just make a statement one way or the other. Please.

My avatar is a shot I took at Namur in 2000 at the 250/500 GP. Four strokes were just arriving at that time.

On Friday Phil Alderton and I walked a very muddy Namur course after having just landed in Brussels a couple of hours earlier. I hadn't slept in about 30 hours and it was such a surreal experience walking a track I had dreamed about since I was a teenager. Crashing on the off camber downhill section quickly awakened me from my jet lag dream state. Man I LOVE NAMUR!

Rub a lamp though if you think it will ever be on the schedule. From my research it appears there are equal concerns about the safety factor (place is 90% tree lined) as there are the facilities ability to support the GP paddock these days. Namur really isn't track from a facilities standpoint. It is more like someone came in and put a bitchin' MX track smack dab in the middle of Beverly Hills or Bel Air or the Hollywood Hills. No joke,

organsing a Gp in Namur is to expensive these days. No one wants to take the risk, it's just much easyer to have a gp in Lommel ...

I'm interpreting the lack of press release or statement as 'I don't know yet'.

Which is fine.

Well I guess he doesn't really have to do shit or say shit and I'm pretty sure his team (you know the people that pay him) has a little say so as to when he announces anything. Just be patient, it will come.

I love Belgium. I raced the 250/500 INTERS class in the BVM in 1981 and 1983. Time of my life.......oops, think I'm getting off topic here!

what I kinda heard,
rv will not be racing the US sx series.
and that its kinda up to KAWASAKI to decide in giving him a gp ride.
personally,i do not see him getting ready for sx and maybe he and KAWASAKI are just letting things take its course.you know,as a replacement rider for an injured Kawasaki gp rider.i don't know.

Luongo has been intimating that RV will be riding the GPs next year.

There seems to be whispers that RV's knee surgery isn't healing up as quickly as originally expected. I seem to recall reading that SX is essentially out as a result.

My guess is that RV's GP decision weighs heavily on what the doctors have to say.

Are yall talking about Geoff as in MXGeoff and MXIllustrated? Isn't that the same guy that announced confidently that Barcia was going to the GP's?

Great point about patience. I am crankier than usual due to some back issues the last two weeks. Regardless my life will go on but I am just not ready for a repeat of the will he won't he National deal. I will go get my God give me patience right now button and clip it on to be safe.

My impatience at the moment is fueled by my hope that RV goes for it. Be fantastic for the sport but as a buddy of mine pointed out "what happens if RV goes there and doesn't win?" GREAT question. From a fan standpoint I would imagine the sooner they can announce RV is or is not going to MXGP the better it would be for fans that would plan a vacation around seeing RV race MXGP.

I wish he'd shit or get off the pot also. I don't care if it's his decision to announce stuff or Kawi's or Monster's. Whoever can make the decision to announce shit, announce it already.

No way in hell RV is going to do all the mxgp's.

He could not learn those tracks like AC already does and beat AC for the title.

Been to Namur, drank at The Monument Cafe, walked the old track with Jeff Cernic and our buddy Moe... Amazing place. But alas, never saw a race there.

This is the BEST post I've seen on this site! About time someone just lays it out. The guy is not playing it straight with fans at all. Which is to say he’s jerking all of us fans around. Pretty stupid in my opinion.

Oh… and don’t forget about the other stuff he doesn’t want you to know about for some strange reason. Compare that to Reed who has a child this past few days and posts a proud pop picture.

we went to watch the 2001 mx des nations at namur. Amazing place- i can say with 100% confidence that there will never be another track like that again! really special, unique place. So glad i went there!

as for rv to gps- im still very doubtful it will happen. I hope im wrong, would love to see him do a season of gps (or any top american racer) but very unlikely. Although the rumour doesnt seem to be going away? sure they will announce something soon. Id be more inclined to take adam wheelers word than geoffs though

There seems to be a battle of wishful thinking there...
We do hear in Europe that it will happen indeed but realistically, if it does'nt happen, it is still good from a PR point of view for Youthstream to trumpet that deal...
So it's difficult to figure out what is really happening.

Well that has to be about the only place you haven't seen a race at! :-) What year(s) and where did you get to race in Europe?

ayearinmx-You see what I was talking about yeah? RE: MX track in Beverly Hills or Bel Air? Congrats on visiting the famous Namur.
