Well he isn't going to set the world on fire indoors which is where the big money is so I wouldn't blame him for racing the Canadian nationals again or even the GPs. I don't see him getting a ride in Europe though.

I believe he cut the track at one race and was docked some positions because of it....and at another race he ran out of gas.

Teams & sponsors want more than results. They want someone who fans like and is marketable (not to mention drama free...)

If I were a team manager picking riders, there are ALLOT of riders on my list before Alessi's name comes up....

Think there was a few like that with Metcalf in nationals some thought that was the main competition gone

If I was advising him, which I'm obviously not, I'd suggest that he cut his professional ties with his father, and do outdoors only in the US as a privateer if he can't get a ride. Just one year, and see how things go. What does he have to lose? Whether Tony is the source of his issues or not, his career is going nowhere as long as Tony is part of Mike's package. I would imagine some good teams would be interested in Mike if Tony wasn't part of the deal.

Thing is, who'd take him anyways... I agree what's he got to lose but what's the upside for the other party

I thought it was while he was at KTM that he tried to ditch dad. I don't think his results improved much.

At this point, is his goal to get another factory ride? Seems like he's content with the Motoconcepts team. I don't think he'd turn down a factory ride but I think he at least knows that ship has sailed.

Mistakes and mishaps really. Not to mention Colton Facciotti has been really consistent.

People do not want to be a part of the Alessi family trouble time bomb. After getting 2nd and not getting support they have went on to prove everyone made the right choice by staying clear. The only support they will get will be like what they have and that may be the one and only team willing to join them. I get tired of reading poor Alessi doesn't get support. That is on THEM not the smart business people doing what is good for thier business. I say MC and Alessi should go back to canada for 2015.

It might for other riders. Mike Alessi already has name and sponsorship recognition. There's no doubt he could beat a few factory riders. He's already done that. I'm not sure how his contract reads but it must be worth something if he's racing sx and mx. Is there a more lucrative offer from any other team if he consistently pulls down top 5 finishes? Factory contract or support? He has nothing to prove in the States. He has a competitive drive and a desire to win. What is there to prove finishing 5th against factory teams? Nothing.

For sponsor interest......

Lets not forget this guy gets his sponsor 35 seconds of national TV time in about 50% of the races he enters when he gets the hole shot then gradually fades back in the pack.

If you watch the round where he cut the track, he only did because he over jumped the tabletop, not a thing he did purposely. He was on fire in Moncton and went 1-1. Idk if the booing fans beside me helped or not but he was on rails. Heres a video I got:

He appeared at the KTM dealer meeting his last year there and Tony was there with him. I got the feeling then at KTM it was don't let the door hit you on the way out. I spoke to him briefly at the ride day and he came across as a kid that had the weight of the world on his shoulders. He was very polite and professional but just seemed incredibly distracted.
