Non issue. But since it's got something to do with the Alessi's, matthes will make it an issue. If this was Honda who said faciatti won and he didnt then matthes never would have even mentioned it. Matthes is going to lose a lot of respect within the industry for things like this

Wrong. He's losing respect from many fans already. Fans are what makes the industry go around. I like him for the most part, he just needs to get off this Alessi kick. Ripping on the Alessi's because of something they had no control of is just childish.

I'm not sure what to say except that I just flat out disagree. It seems like more people than ever are tuning into his stuff. Hear more people than ever talking about reading or listening to something he puts out. His job isn't to be liked, it's to report what's going on in the sport. Whether you like it or not, what MCR did is news, however major or minor you consider it is another discussion altogether and has nothing to with who reports it or why. People, this is a professional sport, so get over it. This is absolutely peanuts to what professional athletes have to deal with on a daily basis in other sports. Everyone wants to talk about how this is the "gnarliest, "toughest" or most "badass" sports for guys with "huge balls" yet people get bent out of shape about something put in twitter or reported, even though it actually happened. He didn't do anything except report what happened. Get over it.

maybe because it's retarded to tweet a congrats to yourself for winning a race that hasn't even been completed yet. I don't care if there's only one lap left, it's still dumb. Anything can happen, like a crash, mechanical, or even, dare I say it running out of gas lol. MCR/Alessis is the only team that consistently does dumb shit like this. I don't see any other race team tweeting they "won" the moto before the moto is even done lol. This reminds me of their "press confrences" they used to do after each SX round this year. It really doesn't surprise me considering where this is coming from, but in the grand scheme of the Alessi's, this is actually pretty minor. Nobody went to the hospital, the police weren't called, no fines/suspensions handed out so I must say that today was a good day lol
Hey bud let me help you with your delusional perspective on MCR, Genova, and the Alessi's, and yes I am friends with the whole group and organization so I am qualified to comment on things I know, very much unlike you.

MCR is one of the best funded and most organized race teams in the paddock. The bikes are fresh, equipped and have proven to out run the so glorified factory bikes. Their pit presences is second to none as you can eat off the floors. Genova has helped so many riders pursue their riding dreams, employed countless people, supported Feld and MX Sports all while using his own hard earned money, in a race economy that is virtually impossible to get any financial return.

Mike Alessi continues to excel and improve as a rider as was evidenced in this years SX series beating many top factory pilots more often than not. You can dislike him or his family all you want but there is no denying that Mike is one of the most versatile, consistent reliable riders in the world.

So the next time your thinking about talking crap about a team who is working and spending their asses off to bring guys like you racing at a high level, be sure you really give some consideration that you my friend do not have the skill, smarts, money, work ethic , experience and more to do what these people do. Very successfully I might add.

Summarized, you don't even know what you don't even know.

i think its absolutely hilarious that 3-4 people relentlessly try to defend MCR antics and its painfully obvious they are either 1. sent here to do it, 2. the same guy under multiple alias's. It was evident in the contract thread and you can now see it here in this one.

I think that its worse than the reported actions as it magnifies each issue each time. the threads would just die and go away if they left it alone...but no..they got to cheerlead and the thread magnifies into a 10 pager which ends up whoring up their image even worse. good job on the PR war you guys make for yourselves.

I can assure you neither my dad or my brother post on vital! They dont care to even come on the forums anymore to look at what people talk about, especially my brother. All you guys are out of control, its amazing what people have gotten away with in the past here talking about how they hope mike brakes his neck and evil stuff like that. Shows you the control of this place these days.

Jeff, you know I try and help out when I can. I can't read it all, but I'm always open to getting emails or phone calls pointing out stuff that's over the line. In fact, I'd prefer it go down that way, instead of things like MCR's truck driver getting in my face (like happened in San Diego).

Your brother may not post here now, but has in the past, and when he has, he's done it right. He laid out his side of the story, and didn't get into a debate about it.

Your pop has also posted here, and if I remember correctly, sometimes it works out okay for him, sometimes it doesn't. I guess it depends on which account we're talking about. He's also not shy about calling me if something has gone too far.

I like the MCR program for the most part. I do think there's a little too much of a feeling that the world is out to get them, and just a hint of enjoying the drama a little too much.

Hard work and results > drama.

I know you do but steve i think you need to start making a statement here and really start clipping people that need to go. If someone has a fake account delete them, if some kid cant stop being a nuisance correcting people over and over on there grammar because he has nothing better to talk about clip them, if someone has extremely negative and hateful comments i think you should prove a point that this place isnt a place where idiots can come talk about whatever they want while hiding behind a keyboard and a few fake accounts. If you see something you know isnt right they should get a warning and if they dont stop then this site would probably be better off without them. Ill be honest, i get annoyed 95% of the time im on here, i know theres a tolerable amount people can talk about but im talking about the people that cause problems and act like they are 11 years old and cant be touched no matter how far they take it.

My trigger finger is way itchier than it used to be. I occasionally fire a warning shot with people (if I think it's worthwhile), otherwise they get clipped. Sometimes they get reinstated after an email chat. Other times they don't. Catch me at a race one of these days and I'll scroll through the admin page and show you how many people don't make the cut. It's probably a lot more than you (or anyone) realize.

I do think people should be able to express their opinions, but they also don't need to be over-the-top idiots.

Jeff, I don't mean to be an ass here, but my honest advice for the good of you, the team and your family would be to just not get on here anymore. I know it's tempting, I know you want to defend your family (sometimes justified, other times not) but it just doesn't work for you. Take this as constructive criticism, not an insult - you/MCR/team associates just aren't that great at the forum aspect. And that's OK. You don't have to be. It won't be the end of the world. I like your brother, he's awesome and great with the fans. But I have yet to see any issue with you guys that has ever been resolved on here. Most of the time it just becomes worse. So once again, my advice would just be to move on and avoid the confrontation altogether.

I understand what your saying i do but defending my family is just what i do when i have to do it, when i see someone talking about other topics that interest me i like to be one of the guys here that join in on the conversation. I dont just come on to start a war with someone that has something negative to say about my brother or someone else im close to, i like this site because i can help people to with stuff they have questions on. Im sure steve has a lot more going on that we dont see with this sight trying to control the mass but some of these guys on here just keep going after something i dont understand why they would want to chase. Maybe its attention maybe they want to one up the last crazy comment that raised the bar idk i just feel like theres so much better you could talk about.

Let it go, gang, I was just teasing. I posted a wrong "winner" tweet at Loretta Lynn's when someone crashed in the last turn -- it happens when you are at the races.

Good luck up there, Jeff.

Sure is. Not hard at all. Being a dick on the interweb doesn't get you anywhere in life.

Or that some of you never forgive, and never forget.

That's fair enough, and I respect that. But as one man that's involved in a family business to another, just keep in mind that sometimes the worst thing you can do to defend a family member in the business world, is to defend a family member. I have learned this through my own shortcomings. I am a hot head by nature and very protective of my family. I have spouted off in defense of my family on multiple occasions and you know what it gets your family...a bigger target on their back. There is great solace in flying under the radar. Look, you're a grown man and we are about the same age so I respect the fact that you can do as you please and make your own decisions. I'm simply suggesting that being more calculated might do y'all some good.
