Wasn't Stewart hanging out with these guys before the Seattle Supercross? http://seattletimes.com/html/seahawks/2019776708_adderall28.html

For all those people that are saying adderall isn't a PED, read the above article. From the above article-

"It masks fatigue, masks pain, increases arousal — like being in The Zone," begins Wadler, currently an associate professor of medicine at Hofstra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine, in a phone interview.

"It increases alertness, aggressiveness, attention and concentration. It improves reaction time, especially when fatigued. Some think it enhances hand-eye coordination. Some believe it increases the mental aspects of performance."

That's not to mention possible increases in acceleration, speed, strength and power that accrue to Adderall users. It's no wonder that Wadler calls Adderall "one of the quintessential performance-enhancing drugs. There's no question it's a performance-enhancing drug."

Its pretty clear that it is, alot of people just dont want to except that it is a PED, so their down playing its usage in MX. People will always believe what they want to reguardless of fact & make excuses so it will fit their agenda (reminds me of the obama administration). I really think addreal should be taken a little more serious in sports. I remember hearing about this story in football.

Caffeine does the same thing. We should bust James for Red Bull in his pit. Except Red Bull and Monster pay all the bills.

My understanding is that caffeine is a banned substance in certain sports. If they do a test and it shows the guy had the equivalent of 15 coffees they have something to answer for.

edit* they changed it in 2004

From WADA website

The 2010 and 2011 Monitoring Programs did not reveal global specific patterns of misuse of caffeine in sport, though a significant increase in consumption in the athletic population is observed.

Yes he did go on a tour & meet Sherman.

I was just thinking the same thing... Do you think they could have been like, " hey, try this tonight, it worked for us..."

I mean it's plausible for sure...

you mean this?
Sherman says he accidentally drank from a bottle into which a teammate poured a crushed Adderall pill. The person said the teammate is permitted to take the drug under NFL rules because he has a prescription.

Not for nuthin... It all depends on what your body chemistry is. It effects everyone differently. Being one of the ADHD millions in this country I can mainline Adderall, Ritalin, Coke, Coffee and Red Bull and all you're gonna get from me is a LOT of pee, increased blood pressure and my heart rate will increase. I will say it has made me dependent on Coffee. The only cure that has ever worked for me has been full natural diet, no artificial colors, preservatives and additives.

Side note: The standarizations for PED's really need to look at the food the FDA deems allowable. The things put in some of the chicken you can buy at the store... HOLY shit.

Anyway:
Adderall Side effects: nervousness, restlessness, excitability, dizziness, headache, fear, anxiety, and tremor. Blood pressure and heart rate may increase, and patients may experience palpitations of the heart. Adderall is habit forming and chronic use may lead to dependence.

All perfect for a low impact sport like Supercross/Motocross don'tcha think?

Personally, if I was on the gate of a pro supercross race and I knew the guy next to me had ADHD, I'd hope he'd taken his Adderall.

I came across this article trying to find more info about adderall use as a ped.
" deadspin.com/adderall-is-the-nfls-hot-new-ped-excuse "
Article says that adderall cannot be positively identified in ped testing, only amphetamine substances, so when an athlete tests positive for amphetamines, the adderall excuse is used because it's a legally prescribed medication unlike other forms of amphetamines.

Yeah, because anytime you take a drug you will experience ALL of the side effects or at least the bold ones for sure.

I guess another way to put is......if you don't have ADHD then the drug would be like an overload on your system! No benefit whatsoever in fact act in an adverse way! Like getting a pace maker when you don't need one!
