As many times as Stewart has thumped his melon over the years, I wouldn't doubt that a drug Adderal might be necessary for him to stay focused. The sport takes it's toll on these guys.

First rider got pinched - I am still fan of Stew. All riders take note, the bodies are taking this seriously.

Additional Note: I am more curious to see if a rider fails after the CO PED test. The riders were given detail instruction.

I think Dungey's fiance should take the back seat on this one. Really doesn't need to stick her nose in at a time like this.

I don't care either way that soon to be Mrs. D is talking about it. Just found it fascinating and humorous. Besides Ellie, you don't see many WAGS opening their mouth's.

Also, I wonder how more of the story there is? Example, JT's comment on twitter.

Let's not forget about what AJ Allmendinger went through. Not really comparable...as he is not a top top Nascar talent..but within days of the test...people were declaring him a drug addict...when it reality...he was just a bonehead.
He had a very good idea on Monday

Sad deal. Some will say testing is a good thing. Why? So fuck sticks can discount one of the greatest of our sport because of some joke of a testing system?

Carry on, mob
So if a low ranked rider tested positive it would be OK?

Everyone is so eager to get their provocative statement in that they are missing the real juicy details in this story.

Check out 3dw4rd's first post ever on Vital ^^^^^^^^. Is this a genuine website he is linking to; "justanswer.com?" There are some very specific details in that mother's post. . .

Pretty good timing, right? Make your first post on Vital at the same time one of the biggest stories ever in the sport is breaking and just happen to come on the scene with what is purported to be a message from Sonya Stewart. One the first page of the first thread breaking the news. Mere minutes after the press release.

____

Another observation I had. The press release says that James received notification on the 17th. "The Thread" was started the day before. Everyone on Vital knew a day before James did?

Also, where are you guys getting the impression from the PR that this was a "late" prescription? All the PR said was that "the medication in question is and has been prescribed to Stewart by his physician to treat a long-term condition." I have to think the words in the PR were chosen very carefully. "Long term condition" doesn't always equal long term prescription?

Doesn't take Einstein to work out we're in the spin zone.

If it was handled above board from the beginning, there wouldn't need to be any spinning.

That is a very interesting observation. From reading the link, it sounds as though James was prescribed Adderall but never took it until now? As well as the timing of the thread, all of this does seem a bit suspicious. I'm still not going to pass any judgement until we get a full story though, it only takes a little bit of misinformation to tarnish an entire career, and I would hate to see that caused without knowing ALL the facts first. I guess we will have to wait and see, great catch by the way.

Just curious, but how many of the "experts" here have even bothered to look at the Anti Doping file thats part of Supercross?http://www.amasupercross.com/rules/pdf/Anti%20Doping%20FIM%202013.pdf in particular, article 10.

A few things to keep in mind, it was implemented at this level in 2013, last season, in essence, its relatively new. Before anyone nails JS to the cross, there are a lot of questions that need to be answered. Did he file a TUE? Was he granted one previously, was it approved, denied, appealed, how long are they good for? Was there a clerical error in this? Was there a TUE but it expired? Was his medication NOT listed but had the same chemical makeup? Did his Dr or someone on his team not follow through? I mean, the questions and possibilities are endless and right now, nobody knows so why blast him?

There is a reason why drugs are classified I, II, III etc as some are more severe than others and therefore carry larger penalties(jail time, fines, etc), let this unfold before judging. IMO, this is nothing close to the MLB scandal or Lance Armstrong, I'd like to believe this is minor in comparison. I'd like to think that given how things changed and were implemented in 2013(WADA, USADA, FIM etc) that this is nothing more than an oversite or small mistake. If this medication was being prescribed and taken over the past years, perhaps it was a transition error so to speak.

What about all these personal accounts of people taking Adderall. It effects everyone differently, but without question, someone taking it daily over years has a tolerence and doe not get the same effect as a weekend warrior user and student studying for final exams. It's quite possible that a medication like this could have a calming more neutral effect on someone with ADHD than the described alertness super focus energy for days effect that casual users describe. Bottom line, we dont know, its all speculation and only 1 person truly knows every detail and thats the person taking it. Does JS or any rider it was, not deserve the respect and opportunity to tell his side?

I understand that there are rules for a reason and they should be followed. But look at it from this perspective. If you were working your regular job and kept having dangerous accidents because you couldn't keep 100% focused and knew you've always had this problem, wouldn't you try and get help for it? A lot of people forget that the pros are just normal people too and they're trying to do their job and survive.

I think we should take a step back here and realize a few things.
1.Until the official word comes out on WHAT he tested positive for it is only speculation. I could be Adderall for ADHD or a steroid for his knee that has yet to be repaired, or THC from a celebration puff as far back as San Diego?
2. Why are we just hearing about this when a drug test doesn't take this long?
3. The list of banned substances is staggering!! There are no baselines beforehand for things like testosterone levels, red blood cell levels, etc. This is/was the issue in the cycling world.
4. Most importantly, I don't care what you take nothing is going to give you the talent to ride the way that JS, RV, KR, ET, TC, CR, RD, JB or any of these guys ride. The best that you could get is more fitness to ride full out longer, the rest is the riders skill and the bikes setup, there are just too many variables.
5. At the end of the day does anyone REALLY care, and does anyone REALLY think that most athletes at the top end of their sport are 100% clean?? I say NO to both! Even when you look at Lance Armstrong, how far down the list do you have to go to find someone that DIDNT test positive to hand those 7 titles to?? When your competition is using a PED, then its a level playing field sorta speak.. Since when is any competition a level playing field anyway??? Someone is always stronger, faster, or injured or more talented. Its our current mindset of everyone gets to participate, everyone gets a trophy that has us feeling this way. Not everyone is good enough to make the team, not everyone makes the main, not every girl is pretty enough to be a cheerleader. Life is not about fair, its tough so get a helmet buttercup!!

If indeed the speculation is correct about it being adderal.....What Id like to know is......in the last 5 days not ONE person made any remark regarding James ever having ADHD.....? not ONE TIME in all these years in videos....in all the documentaries of his life....not on Bubbas world not EVER....Not from interviews from his parents , his brother his friends has anyone ever mentioned that James had ADD/ADHD......? I find that one VERY hard to believe no one knew.

My 2nd red flag is........how did he NEVER test positive with it before now? Are we to believe he has never been tested from 09 till now?

Honestly, I thought it was gonna be RV if anyone!

Having said all that........I think the drug testing in this sport is lame as shit! If its up to me I would just legalize it for all and drop it. but at the same time if the rules ARE made...you enforce them for all equally!

Talking to my wife about this.. I was telling her how bad so many of you wanted to hang RV and Aldon for doping. She brought up something she mentioned before... Not taking away from my neutral stance on this, but it makes you wonder what really happened with Aldon and JS7.

James is a pretty private person.

Not sure thats something he should have to let everyone know about.

If its adderall, this whole fiasco is a fucking joke. That shit wont make him faster, it doesnt allow him to ride for a longer period of time and I hope they dont do anything.

Now if its something PED related, let the hammer come down.

And I dont agree with how RC, Reed, DV and JT have handle all of this on twitter. Just shows how amateurish this sport really is.

Not to mention the Team having to release a presser before the officials did.

Until it's proven that JS7 maliciously took drugs to gain an unfair advantage, I'll continue to be a big fan of his.

So it's not PED related? Even tho Dr's have said it is?

Regardless, it's on the banned list.

And in the rules they said they're testing for x number of items on the banned list.

Nobody is saying he shouldn't take it if he needs it. That's why they have the exemption in there for it. The bigger issue is why he didn't get an exemption.. Paperwork error? Being really dumb? Doesn't really have a valid prescription? We'll see I guess.
