No, this means if you do have adhd simply notify the officials, show them the information from your doctor then be on your way. It's that easy. It's the same for all sports. Plenty of people in professional sports have conditions where they are given prescriptions. Difference is, most of them go through the proper procedures so they don't get in trouble.
That's what's so confusing. Proper procedure would have made this a non-issue. James and his team definitely should have gone that route, but the question remains; if exceptions are made for the usage of adderall why is it a banned substance in the first place?

I've always wondered this. Even in the NFL. Not making excuses, just wondering.

I said it in the other thread and I'll say it again here. I'm still a fan. Medication doesn't blow my mind, his riding does and you don't get that type of talent from a pill. Still the baddest dude to ever throw a leg over a bike and no punishment they could hand out will ever erase that fact.

I just want to say that I support James Stewart. He will get through this.

Give me a break. I race in triathlon and we get tested by USADA just as pro cyclist do. You wouldn't believe some of the stuff on the banned list. Half the stuff on it people take every day that you can buy over the counter. Stuff that wouldn't benefit you one way or the other for performance. If you took 2 ibuprofen you would piss positive. It's ridiculous.

If the drug is adderol, I can't believe some people are throwing JS7 over a cliff as a cheater and black eye for the sport. Some of you are true ass clowns and have not a single clue.

I will always be a fan of JS7's riding abilities. He is the most talented rider I have ever witnessed on a bike and that will never change.

That being said, he sure pulls some pretty dumb moves off the bike, and ignorance of the rules is just another item on the list. I really hope he can continue to race and this doesn't push him into an early retirement.

Well I for one am glad all the moto " journallist" sites "broke" Team Yoshimira statement rather than growing a spine and reporting what they knew at least 24 hrs ago. Somethings backwards here.

That's right. All pro sports ban Adderall unless it is prescribed by a doctor and cleared by the sanctioning body. I'm no JS7 hater and I'm not saying he cheated, but Adderall can be used as a neurological performance enhancer. It's also used to treat narcolepsy BTW which is a sleep disorder.
Yep. And let's not forget, even if he is prescribed a drug who's to say he wasn't abusing it? He may be allotted a certain amount per his prescription. Maybe his dosage count came back double? Or triple? Who knows. He could've been popping an extra pill or two before motos. There's so many different scenarios and all we can do for now is speculate. Hopefully the full truth comes out so we can put it to rest and move on.

You didn't hurt my feelings at all although I'm sure you wish you'd have. The picture was in regard to the "drug user" comment. You make it sound like he's on meth. Climb down from your soapbox. And for the record, none of these guys are "my rider". My post wasn't in defense of anyone. Just pointing out a ridiculous comment.

I feel as he wasnt using this as a way to "cheat" or a "ped". Think about it. The guy knows theyre testing the top riders, why would he go take an illegal drug when he knows hes gonna get tested. I feel like this is nothing and it just happened to be on the list and he didnt notify them about it.

Great. If he does do everything that he needs to and it is handled correctly then that is all we can ask for.

I just don't want to see another fuckin bullshit response where the other team managers are tearing up rule books.

Exceptions are made because some people need it to maintain "normal" focus. It's not just you need a prescription, you have to work with WADA who works with your doctor and determines whether you qualify for the exemption. I won't argue that it's a bit sketchy that they allow an exemption but they don't just hand them out because you bring in a doctor's note.

That's what makes this so odd. He knew he could potentially be tested. So why not notify the officials of his prescription?

I've been on this forum for a very long time, I just don't talk out my ass like you. You don't know shit, just like the rest of us so why don't you lay off the bashing of James until you actually have the facts.

It's just the same old haters dude, they are very predictable, although a couple have surprised me.

Some of you guys are so lame ... by some of the posts I've read I can tell that many of you have pathetic lives and would rather pile on someone else to make yourselves feel good about your own inadequacies.

Will someone answer my question? I really cannot understand why JS should be condemned for using a prescribed drug from a licensed physician. Am I missing a fact that makes this damning for him?

I look at James no differently than before. One of the all time greats who got caught by not having the right people in his corner with masking abilities. There is no doubt that he is not the only one....he just is the one that got busted. Others choose to run and hide

Maybe he thought because he could produce a prescription he would get exempt after the fact. Either way,IMO if a guy can get out of a positive test for the sample handling procedures not followed correctly(Ryan Braun, Richard Sherman), then he should also have to serve the penalty when he didn't file the paperwork right.

You know you can get HGH, steroids, testosterone, etc... "prescribed from a licensed physician", right? There was a procedure to follow if you have a prescription. Why couldn't he do that?

have you ever been to medical school?
because drugs have a totally different effect on people who have ADHD or ADD and people who are just wanting to get PUMPED UP.

Has he been taking it for years? What if he notified the governing body but didn't notify them this year because he figured they should already know? Just curious ....

Perfect example of why I hate this forum.

I would be interested to see if other tests (if they exist) that were done through sx were consistent with the Seattle test, proves if its a one off this way
