I am not a huge JS7 fan. But I don't dislike him by any means. I enjoy watching him race. Now for those of you saying that he has lost all your respect or a cheater. Seriously? A prescription medication? Move along. This is going to blow over so fast it's not even funny.

If he was caught on traces of an actual illicit drug or roids then I would understand. I don't see this as being performance enhancing at all.

The interesting part moving forward is gonna be how journalists treat this. Will there be ones that avoid him like the plague to avoid the obvious question, or will there be ones that cinch up their big boy pants and ask the difficult question(s)?

With riders hushing up injuries & issues so that they're not known by their competition...why wouldn't James be the same way in this situation?

Of course I don't knows the whole story, and neither do most here, so the truth may never surface.

Wow.

The amazing amount of speculation, followed by condemnation on this board is at an all time high.

So far, we know relatively nothing, but I'm pretty sure that James needs to be banned for life. Yeah, I'm going with that.Unsure

If he has been on this medication for some time, why didn't he say anything prior to the test? Get it out to the testing company. I get drug tested at work all the time, and I have a prescription for medication that they test for. I always inform whoever is performing the test before I take it so there is no surprise to anyone. By him keeping it quiet, it just seems suspect.

I love this forum, best resource for moto...but I hate the way some of the people act.

Prescribed meds. He still made a mistake but that is not cheating. Its called being human.

Glad all the haters have never messed up before.

James, take the punishment and then kick some ass and show you are the best!

No, this means if you do have adhd simply notify the officials, show them the information from your doctor then be on your way. It's that easy. It's the same for all sports. Plenty of people in professional sports have conditions where they are given prescriptions. Difference is, most of them go through the proper procedures so they don't get in trouble.

Um... it's been stated clearly for a few days now it happened at Seattle.

I think he should get whatever penalty is predetermined for it. If you have a list of prohibited substances and call yourself a professional, then he's capable of getting the prescription to the right person at the right time. It's simply part of being a professional athlete.

Any amphetamine has to be banned as a TUE is useless.

Juice has a medical indication. Abuse is a ped.
My old man triples his replacement dose. Hes an athletic freak and 79.

a doctor cant control how much you take. No more scripts? Easy. Get another doc.

Spin it anyway you want to if it helps you get through the day. Stewart is a drug user and a cheater and a black eye for our sport now. Carry on noobie.

Really sucks for James and the sport.

But Lenny's posts and his years of accusing anyone that beat James of using PEDs, and then it's James that is the first rider in the sport to test positive, it's classic, pure gold!

No. No mainstream media will care. Only people in this small circle give crap about this sport.

This whole drug testing business has become such a clusterfuck. As long as the drugs in question don't impair judgement/coordination, which is to say they would put other riders/fans/track personnel in danger....who gives a shit? If a rider wants to leverage his long term health so he can do better in a dirt bike race, stupid as that might be it's his decision.

That said I don't think James did anything wrong. Unfortunately people on here always think he's guilty until proven innocent, then still guilty after that.

I hope you are right. I would think that through his pharmacy or some avenue like that he could prove history of taking a prescribed medicine for medical condition. He could say "look, I am not lying, this is an honest mistake". That would be ideal.

But don't you think if that was true and that was the case, that would have happened before a press release? The fact that they let it get this far muddies those waters.

I am not a fan of any particular rider and I have been thrilled to see Stewart turning it around, I hope this doesn't sideline him.

We don't even know if it was just meds for ADHD. Thats all pure speculation.I'll hold judgment until the facts come out. Either way, we have an issue of Stewart being a cheater or being negligent. I'm hoping it's him simply being a big dumb dumb and not a cheater. I love seeing him race, and I feel the more competition for us to watch the better.

Bring back works bikes and PEDs, I want to see the absolute best bike and the best genetic freak of a motocrosser push it to the freaking limit. If I want to see stock bikes and average riders, I'll go to my local track.

That's right. All pro sports ban Adderall unless it is prescribed by a doctor and cleared by the sanctioning body. I'm no JS7 hater and I'm not saying he cheated, but Adderall can be used as a neurological performance enhancer. It's also used to treat narcolepsy BTW which is a sleep disorder.
