I remember all of the incident people described here, plus one where the fans (I believe it was in Belgium) were throwing things at Lackey and also pulling up the fence and narrowing the track, covering the dry lines when he went by, but then they would back up when the Belgian's came by.

it is lame to throw garbage at a rider but those dickwads at southwick a few years ago were much more offensive

As a result of this incident, where one idiot (who may or may not have been British) in a crowd in England threw a plastic bottle at a black rider, you right raise the question regarding whether "britians" hate blacks! Are you for real?

This sort of incident shouldn't happen and is very difficult to prevent, but personally I doubt very much whether it was motivated by race. Much more likely by misplaced nationalism which anyone who frequents this board on a regular basis should be used to. This particular muppet represents himself and himself only.

Did Lackey have to go slow on that last championship moto becaue he was afraid if he pulled too big of a lead the fans would go crazy and throw crap at him?

The euro fans are sore losers. The key word here is of course "losers".

Assholes are everywhere, doesn't matter what country you are in. Get over the "Euro" thing and focus on the asshole thing. We have more than enough of them here in the "good ole" USA. Once we rid the US of them, we can concentrate on the rest of the world. Might be awhile.........Smile
So true. There's plenty of dickweeds here also. Years ago at Unadilla, some idiots were throwing rocks at Moiseev and the other Russians.

Yes, he says they were Brits.
(however if you read that board, most did not think it was cool at all)

From my understanding, there was also other debris being thrown onto the track ect...
I heard that the track announcers made mention of it more then once and asked the fans to stop throwing stuff onto the track.

I think the whole thing is pretty lame, whether they did it in 70's or 80's it still doesn't make it right.

Booing a rider or even making lewd gestures at him is harmless for the most part (yet it is still classless IMO), but taking it to the next level and throwing stuff at the riders is just uncalled for and a definitely sign of disrespect , regardless of what country the rider is from .

'Taint nuthin - end of story.

But to continue the story .... A couple of NRL teams were playing in NZ and the away team got real bottles thrown at them, the guys here just put glue on the cut to stop the bleeding and use it as motivation to play harder.

Plastic bottle, can anyone say drama queens!

It is a not matter of if it physically hurt or not but the principle and disrespect of the act itself.

The worst was having our own american people throw stuff at Vietnam vets.

Oh this is moto.. There is always one shit bag in the crowd if not 10 of them. Next time you see someone throwing stuff at ANY rider happily walk over to him and grab his ear and rip it off and hand it to him.

Im sure a fan just thought JS was hot and thirsty so he threw him a nice cold water, but JS miss it.

That would be great!

Send them, and see how they end up 4th or 5th. Stewart & VP are the fastest in the World by a long way, other than that it's a level playing field my friend. You're deluded if you think your B-Team (whoever that might be) would fair any better than Australia did this year.

Who are you kidding, after SX and the Nationals injury reports, we're lucky to have any team let alone a "B" team. You'd think as big as this country is we'd have a whole shitload of riders to send over and dominate.
