Very interesting. I'm sure Matthes will have the scoop shortly.

one of these 4 reasons

1- Team is not coming, RV was the only rider MA800 doesn't think he can beat...he won a sx heat race after all, and beat dunge outdoors in a moto
2- Team would not commit to finishing series with just Jer
3- Tony is more fuckt than anyone Jer has had to deal with yet
4- We only cover hot tubs with a tarp in canada

Oh dear. The one classy thing those guys have done in a while gets boned before it starts.

I would say this is a good indication of MA800 staying here in the states this summer.

Yet another reason why riders/athletes need to band together and form a (insert best word) to keep from getting screwed. Similar to other sports where they have a cutoff to when athletes must be signed the same should occur in MX/SX. This would greatly help a rider in preparing to race. Teams that plan on racing should have to demonstrate financial security prior to the start of the season as well as signing a contract for the current season to keep them for pulling out last minute.

The riders group could then secure a law firm to go after teams that don't fulfill contractual obligations.
In the event that a sponsor does not fulfill its obligation to the team, the riders law firm can assist the team in going after those funds.

How many times have we heard stories of riders not being paid from both privateer and factory teams and also personal sponsors?

^^^True that EddieC, but teams also get stiffed by sponsors mid-season. Many times the team will fulfill their rider/staff contracts out of their own pocket. Too expensive to litigate.

That's either not the whole story or a bad decision on Jeremy's part. Too bad.

Realistically, what if Mike got hurt early on, would the team really want to put the effort forth to finish out the series with just Jeremy? This team is all about Mike and that's fine.

I am sure that all teams have guidelines, and unfortunately maybe these two factions could not come to a mutually agreed upon plan of action. Like the team or don't like the team, I do know that Kyle requested the opportunity to stay in the states to race and they are allowing him to do so without voiding his contract. I only hope that Jeremy finds a place to land that works for him and his program! Go KC #30!

Tony confirmed that Jeremy is no longer on the team and that they are currently seeking a rider of equal or greater talent.

Josh Grant might be available next season

IF that happens...they need to get a reality TV show contract and film that....there isn't enough popcorn in the world to cover all that drama.

Yes and the same contract can cover what happens when a rider chooses his own program instead of what the team asks him to do.

Absolutely.
There needs to be set in place guidelines that both teams and riders agree upon to avoid these situations. If what Tony is asking of Jeremy is not uncommon from other teams then I don't see anything wrong. Often times both parties in trying to get the best deal will try all sorts of cat and mouse B.S. with the rider usually coming out on the short end of the stick.

Maybe you can find a Red Bull rep stocking a convenience store and get the full story?

This sounds like it could have been headed off at the pass with a little comunication.

Jeremy:-" Yes Tony, I'll be in Vegas to sign the deal but I need to get right back up to Canada to finalize my Red Bull deal, is that OK?"

Tony-"Sounds good Jer, but get your ass back here as soon as possible to do testing alright?"

Jeremy-"Sounds like a plan!"

Pretty simple.

People talk smart ass.
Now go back and finish your Kool Aid and let the grown ups argue.

Why are they on old Honda's? If the present themselves as a "Factory" Team, why ride on a 2 year old machine?
5/13/2014 4:46pm
No rider has been confirmed yet but their plans are still to head north to compete in at least the first round of the Canadian series May 31st.

This sounds like a reversal to me: initially, it was that they would do the first round of the Nationals but definitely go North. Now, the opposite is sounding true. That would make it useful to dump the Canadian.

How much does Red Bull pay? Wouldn't having a ride be a little more important?
