Front tire for mud-soft conditions?

Raining like hell here in Va.- Sunday may be sloppy. I got a brand new Pirelli Mid hard scorpion I just put on but think it may not grip good in the slop.

Any suggestions?

I have heard good things about the S12, even crossing over well to hard terrain.

Yeah, it doest well there too, but t it really shines in the sand, the loam, and the mud. I've been running the S-12 front all season long. Just a great tire.

Sometimes now people run the complete wrong tire.Think about this for food of thought.Depending on what kind of dirt it is, it can be real wet and sloppy and then once you actually get down past the inch of slop its all hard pack dirt.Sometimes a hardpack tire will actually work better.

Good post. I run intermediate rears because of this. Anything is gonna hook up in good loam but a soft will just spin when you get into a hard base below it. I do run soft fronts though.

star cross MS3 front and rear are the absolute best tires on the market for all but hard tracks..and i have tried them ALL.
If any top USA rider had sponsorship from Michelin everyone would run them! Can't believe anyone would still run the old S-12's when you can run Starcross. But i do understand that if you have faith in a tire, you can do better on it than you can on one that you are not used to. Also if you do not have the resources to try all brands and styles that you can only go by what you're buddies say.

I don't know man, I really like the MS2 (older version of the MS3 I believe), hands down the best tires ever.
