They could have made a better effort by signing more significant riders last year.... Kudos to the media for really trying to give JGR coverage though. I think they want the team to be successful to encourage other "Racing Organizations" to join our party.

How do u figure summey and Gracyk werent worthy of that ride? They both put in significant rides all summer long in 2007. New Teams are not going to get top priority on riders. Though everyone knew the team was going to be the real deal, you never want to take a chance by turning down a factory or support team that has proven themselves against a team who could be all hype.

My brother just experienced that problem of riding for a new team that was all talk and no action.(Its not like he had any other offers though)

Its a shame to see Summey lose the deal, but it really is all about the results, and his weren't as good outdoors as they were last summer.

The team is being very methodical in thier approach.

First year, some good exposure, and fair results. 2nd year, hopefully some podiums, and lots of top 5 finishes. 2010 thay will be gunning for a title.

Both Grant and Cooper could surprise some folks....hope Grant can keep it on 2 wheels....

I don't feel sorry for Summey though. He did his job and he did it well!!! Guy has nothing to be ashamed about; business is business...

JGR isn't a new team... just approaching a new series. Coming from NASCAR they could have chosen some A list guys like saaaay Hamblin, Cooper, Jeff Alessi, or even a guy like Kyle Lewis. I think Gracyk was a solid choice just had a lot of injuries. I think Summey might have had a spot as a farm rider but definitely not poster child..... thats just my opinion though.

yea...im going to have to disagree with your "A" list guys. no offense to any of them, they are some of the best riders in the world but when i think "A" list, i think stewart, reed, windham, even m. alessi with his impressive showing this summer....the guys that can win on any given day outdoors or in....(assuming #7, a.k.a. "superman" bobbles, falls, crashes, blows up, etc)

Gibbs is doing great things for our sport. When the day comes that the factories stop sponsoring riders for the outdoor series Gibbs will be the ride to have.

agreed.... I hope it doesn't come to that though.

This year they offered "A" list riders contracts but they turned them down. For next year they offered 3 big riders, championship type riders, contracts but they too turned them down. Astablished Factory riders wouldnt come last year because the werent sure how it would all work out. The team wanted top 5s and 10s this year and thought they were going to get them with Hansen and Summey but it didnt work out.

Summey would have been offered a ride back but he had to be in a certaint spot in the points at the end, he wasnt so they clipped him.

Gracyk would have stayed if his results were better but they werent. They loved Gavins attitude but they have to make the sponsers happy.

This team is going to be the new big team, like Honda was. They are going to make huge waves within the next 2 years. Hell if Yamaha would have kicked in some cash, They would have been sporting a number one plate in the future.

Really glad Cooper got that ride, he rode his ass off this year, although I must admit I'll miss hearing Emig and Ralph saying "The priavteer is passing the factory boys!"

Grant is as inconsistent as anybody both in SX and outdoors. Cooper is a newbie to SX but established outdoors.
I predict a rough SX season for Gibbs. And possibly a good outdoors with Cooper. Grant, well you never know about him. He could shine or he could miss several races. In both series.

I always heard Grant was a better 450F rider then 250F.

Grant's as fast as anyone. He'll show up. Don't know how long he can hang though. Will be interesting to see if JGR stewardship can help his program. Something is missing but it ain't speed.

coop wont have a problem with supercross on the really tight aussi inddor tracks where timing is everything not balls he has gone sweet and when the balls are needed indoors on your tracks well we already seen the size of his........ passing factory suspension on a privateer bike on a track he is seeing the very first time for a majority of them even though hes a new zealander go mate go for 2009
