also, i would say USA was humiliated even more in Germany... they were racing hard pack and all year long (after the Lommel beat down) everyone was saying "wait till we are on hard pack, blah blah blah"

fact is USA has gotten beat straight up and humiliated the last couple years.

I don't think any of our riders got lapped at Germany? Sand or not, no American should ever get lapped at a mxdn...

Getting beat, sure, that has-and will-happen...there are FAST riders in the rest of the world, and its not humiliating to get beat by them....but to get lapped? YIKES! that is humiliation.

Trying not to be partisan here elsinore, i was trackside during that race and Eli did gradually pull Kenny back, but he was waaay hanging it out, while Kenny was mechanical and controlled, only was gonna be one winner in that race !!

The one question non of the GP fans can ever answer is why guys like Roczen and Reed and Bayle all come to the US to race ? Why dont they keep riding the GPs ? Do they come here because its easy to win ?

They'll always be (as with any sport) a natural osmosis of top pro movement from one series to another for various reasons.

Motocross as a collective whole (riders, fans, families, Journalists, amateurs and Pros etc) is roughly divided into two parts; Europe and America. Of course people do it in Canada, Australia, New Zealand etc too, but the two major halves on the sport are as above - EU and U.S, each of course with its own major championship.

The reason why there is a disproportionate number of top riders coming from one series to the other is at least in part due to only one half of the aforementioned sport's fan/rider bass (Europe & the other non U.S parts), following both series. I'm generalising of course, but roughly speaking that's historically been plain to see. It is getting better though with more Americans now beginning to also take a deeper interest in the GPs and perhaps that will one day spread to the up and coming stars themselves.

Imo.
But the top pros who ride in US dont go ride the GPs or go back to the GPs unless they cant get a ride in the US. Who was the last top Americian rider to run the GPs ? Donny Schmit went but that was because he hated Supercross and it made it hard to get a factory ride in the US but he then won world championships.

I feel that American riders brought the current situation on themselves by relegating outdoor mx to a class they seemed to not care about. "Supercross only" contracts are cool to the kids, but it's outdoor, tough tracks that teach speed-not tight indoor tracks . The euros never had the indoor training in the old days, and the riders were too old to learn. The current euro kids were raised on outdoor tracks, plus they picked up sx riding as well. This was the perfect formula for the current drubbings the euro riders routinely dish out to the us riders. Until outdoor is taken as seriously as supercross in this country, we can look forward to many, many ass-kickings by the European teams. Enjoy what we've created!

lol LEGEND? No way, Herlings is not a legend. I see KR more as a legend, he won the GP's made the decision to run with the best in the world and moved to the US. Got the hang of supercross and won a lites title and was very close to an outdoor title. And I wouldn't say that KR is a legend, maybe he will have that status when it's time for him to retire but not for now.

What is the "current situation" you speak of, Is it that RV is still the number 1 rider in the world with James Stewart a close 2nd . Hell I bet 7 of the top ten are Americian. "enjoy what we've created" sorry dude but you haven't created shit, you are just a spectator.

Herlings has shown he can beat most Riders in the World in Sand and is not too far off on hardpack, Legend not yet but he is well on the way. To keep saying he has to come to the USA to prove himself, what a load of crap, He has a contract as does 222 and they are obviously well looked after.

When it comes to MXON I personally think it is about time they made it real with your 50 ? States, if each State had a Origon team that would be a level playing field, fuk you have 200+ Million peeps and whinge like fuk when a Country Like Belgium beat you. I realise you all love to win but fuk you really stack the odds in your favour and still can't win, maybe start another WAR to help your Trillion dollar debt.

I would love to see the list of teams for each state, who would RV ride for, certainly would make it a lot fairer even a 3 way split East, Central and West. And have the Manager from the same area as well, Loved reading that the maestro gave 4 strokes the thumbs down, lucky he doesn't post here or he would be given a timeout.

I seem to recall the us getting its asses kicked for the past few mxdn races, "dude"- unless I've watched the wrong ones. That's fine, bro, I'll just pretend its 1989 and our riders are dominating outdoor mx still. Like some of you guys are. Some fans actually still think that outdoor mx is the truer measure of who is best-not who can time a fucking section of jumps the best. I love supercross, but the euros are better outdoors. Until they hold the mxdn in fucking dodger stadium then it's not looking good for our riders. Sorry if I've ruined your weekend by stating my opinion, buddy.

Bottom line the US rider are fast at SX & MX. What if they just practiced for MX all the time? You put RV,JS & RD against the best 3 from Europe on a track that neither team has rode. Lets see who wins now. Sure JH is going to win on his home track, You think RV is going to loose to him at Whashougal? Then do the same on an SX track.

I think the focus in us racing tilting toward supercross is a weakness. Although I realize that among the intelligentsia among you that an opinion like mine makes me "not real", it is my opinion nonetheless. Flame me at will and accuse me of "not creating anything..", etc., but the people propping up this sport with their money are NOT racers-just fans who like bikes and racing. Apparently, folks like me can keep our opinions to ourselves while some of the badass shredders here get down to the real "brass tacks" of what makes this sport tick. Fair enough.

You just made my argument. IF the us riders concentrated on outdoor more than there's no doubt into mind they'd dominate again, but focus has shifted to supercross to a large degree. That's what I meant earlier by the "current situation" in this sport in America; focus on supercross has lead to non-dominance in outdoor mx. Outdoor racing has always been,in my opinion, a much better story of the greatness of this sport(and the rider). Supercross comes across better on tv, though, so that's where the focus goes to a large degree it seems. Seriously though, why does that seem to offend people on here? Jeeesus.

Factually. Impartially. From holeshot to checkered flag.

RV doesn't even like Washougal (made that clear in interviews), and has only won there once even though it is his home race. Practicing MX all the time wouldn't make much of a difference if any because ALL pro racers grew up on outdoor tracks until they went pro. How is the usa NOT dominating MX
since 2000 they have 8 des nations compared to Belgium's 3, and Germany, Italy, and France's 1.
Just because they didn't win the last two means they are "non-dominant" in mx?

Hell, its been the USA against the rest of the world for the last 30 years now you want to break it down to state by state. They have changed the rules several times at the MXDN just to hurt the USA and it still is the USA coming out on top more times than not. damn you guys have a inferiority complex that just wont quit.
