You can get a black monster edition one too then we can put #420 on it and you will be the sickest guy doing wheelies down your street.

^^What ck95 said. Wink

The thing that's impressive on both the KX250F and KX450F is how much "new" is in the new models. New frames on both bikes. New (off the top of my head) fork coatings, fork guards, an all-new engine on the 250F, the EFI on the 450... Then there's new swingarms, new subframes, new bodywork...

I'll have a lot more detail on both bikes this week.

dealer show is next week, still haev yet to see the 450. I have an assembly manual for it, but nothing to assemble. (I also work at a dealer, one of the top 5 kawi dealers in the nation) but we still have about 6 09 MX bikes in the crate, so I don't think we'll be putting any on the floor soon.

This is exactly why I always tell the dealer not to touch the bike before I get there. I either want it in the crate or I want to see it coming out of the crate. Don't need some knucklehead ripping through the gears on my un-broken-in motor.

There are a couple of guys around DFW who got them almost 2 weeks ago, not much in the way of ride reports though.

Incredibly easy starting. (No heavy foot required.)

Some testers feel that it's faster than last year's bike.

Timmy Ferry said he's impressed with the ability to roll on the throttle, and not have to worry about bogs, or hiccups...and it doesn't require as much clutch use as in the past.

The new bodywork (along with a slimmer frame) have it very svelte indeed.

Loud? Si. Maybe louder than it should be.

My dealership hasn't gotten one yet either.

I'll be switching to Kawi from Yami this year. Want to see if big green can turn better than reliable blue?

I have had the 09 450 for a couple of weeks and ridden it twice. It is a lot different from the 08 which was already good.

The number one thing I noticed was how crisp the thing is off of idle. Riding through the pits and on the track it is noticeably smoother at really low RPM.... no "chugging" or hiccups. the power is deceivingly smooth. it almost feels slow until you get to the other end of the straight away!

I had to adjust the clickers to balance the suspension a little. It felt like the forks were stiffer than the shock. I chose to soften the forks 2 clicks and slow the rebound 1.

Everything else felt right at home. A friend switched from the 08 Honda 450 and said that this bike doesn't require clutching as much and turns easier than his Honda.

BTW this is my first post..... so feel free to flame the FNG

WOW, you must buy a shit load of bikes from that dealer.
To be able to tell them how to run a dealership...lol
Don't touch that bike until i get there, yeah right.
Thats funny stuff right there.
As for ripping through the gears, thats not what i said.
A dealership is required to make sure the bike works properly before it is released to the customer.

One of the reasons you're able to ride every weekend is because he IS in Iraq. Don't forget that.
