I guess some people seem to forget that the ultimate goal of sponsorship is to advertise a product. Yeah, it's great to have the guy that is a constant front runner to be running your product, but they are not always accessible. That being said, there are multiple ways in which you can accomplish this..
I personally applaud Motosport for taking a different approach and taking a guy who is making a lot of mains (which is a huge accomplishment within itself) and bringing the spectator behind the scenes. In my opinion, Albertson brings a lot more to the table than just his ability on a bike, and Motosport is smart for using that to their advantage.
Same goes for shows such as The Runaways, Man VS Moto and the Driven to Ride series!
The only thing deserved around here is a click for your sorry ass.... BRO.

That said, Jimmy has the talent. Great attitude. Never a liability or issue for teams. There's a side of all sports that fans will never see and Jimmy aces that aspect of his professional life.
As for his results not matching his talent...that could be said for 80% of the field. Very few pass the eyeball test. As in, take a look at the when they are shirtless and tell me if you actually see a "pro athlete".
Staying healthy is so hard in this sport. And most riders dont publicize their injury status. But getting in top shape never hurt anyone.
One of Jimmy's supporters was telling me about helping him prior to the season, maybe this will put it into perspective.
Jimmy has a good attitude and a solid following. We will get great exposure through the video series because he and Georgia are good on camera. Even if Jimmy gets hurt, we'll still get eyeballs on our brand because the video series will be there following whatever he has going on.
That's a loose quote, but I noted the fact he didn't mention results and the fact that there is value even if Jimmy isn't on the track. Plus, what are a majority of this thread's posters views on the companies that support Jimmy? Something along the lines of "they are grass roots companies who are involved in the sport and like to help people." It's a no lose, feel good story. We're in a new era of media where more than results matter.
Not to mention, how much TV time with his semi and LCQ wins has Jimmy gotten this year in addition to the video hits and activation in the pits?
I wouldn't take a bet that Jimmy won't be in the top 10 at some point this season, he's riding really well. Sure he's had some crashes and/or bike issues, but he is definitely not far off putting it together. I will bet that it honestly doesn't matter in the amount of exposure he's getting.
Props to Jimmy and all of those supporting him. They are doing a great job of creating exposure, therefore, creating jobs and a ride! I definitely applaud what they are doing and wouldn't think twice about supporting Jimmy.
One last cool thing about him and Peick both, with their own program, they are getting to ride the bike brand they want, with the staff they want around, with the companies they want around them.
