Wonder if there's a chance Canard goes there. He's got the speed to win races and based on JGR going back to the well with Grant over and over again that is the most important thing.

It will really be musical chairs this year by the sounds of it. Im just wondering where Honda go from here. The Factory Connection/Geico amateur farm system has worked really well in recent times in getting the young kids up into lites title contenders, they're just falling at the last hurdle when it comes to the big bike class. Maybe they bust out the cheque book and tell Kenny to name his price.

You can say they went back to the well but I think you will find that Grant was one of the only good options they had left and with a Main event win that makes him more valuable.

if I was betting I would say the other Teams will do anything to try and keep JGR from getting a contender.

At the very top of the sport, I can definitely agree with you 500guy.

Those teams will try like hell to keep jgr playing 5th and 6th fiddle every week

I dont think so..He has the potential to win with the big boys but I think he just has to calm down a little bit. you cant ride a 450 like a 250f haha. Give him another year and he'll be up there.

For sure, i agree. I have also heard that he's not a big of a fan of the new Honda either so maybe we'll see things click if he signs with a new team next year

A lot of people saying just open the check book, but a look at various sports/organizations that have done that and has it worked? The Yankees, Dodgers and Cowboys just to name a few. Paying the most $$ doesn't always get you what you want, plus, people have to buy into what you're selling.

Haha of course you could buy a championship.... but you'd have to have the $$ to pay RV, RD, JS and apparently now Roczen to all ride on your team : ) !!
He's got enough money to hire that payroll twice over AND pay them double. That payroll is a drop in the bucket compared to what the guy has to be spending in NASCAR...

But how would he make any money off that championship? Can't buy championships when there is no capital in the return. This is a stingy, cheap pay-out sport. And our bikes have nowhere near the surface area of Cars for sponsors to slap their logo's on to make up for it.

if i were jgr i would write off the next few years and keep similar riders to what the have now to keep the 450 development going. but invest there money into developing an up and coming lites rider similar to what kawi are doing with ac.

Exactly. I know things are a little rough for Barcia lately but he's a proven 250 champ, and he did really well last year in both SX and MX. Barcia definitely has the potential to win a Championship. I guess a few bad races make people forget about the past.

If Barcia does have a deal done with JGR (just speculating), could/would he break out of his Honda contract to race outdoors with his new ride like JS7 did when he went to Suzuki?

js7 was on a sx-only contract so outdoors he didnt have to race for jgr,he could if he wanted but didnt have too.Barcia would have to wait til nationals are over.

Brayton shows the bike has potential, but id like to see one of the top 5-6 guys get on and win a championship for them.
they have brought a lot to the sport and deserve it.

any insiders have rumors yet?

Stewart was 6 months into a 3 year contract with JGR. Both sided were unhappy and they mutually canceled the entire contract. SX only had nothing to do with it.

We are getting deep into hypothetical speculation but Barcia could do the same thing if both sides and all the lawyers could agree on it.

Here is a list of guys who have won a SX race in the last 2 seasons counting this year:

RV
RD
DM
JBarcia
JS
KR

Who's contract is up? Pretty small list to choose from especially when a few are locked in for next year already.

Is it true the team riders have to live at the facility during testing and attend mandatory church services?

Tomac, Tickle, Weimer , Canard, and Jason Lawrence were all proven 250 champs too....

I think Canard is going to end up at JGR. He is the only one that doesn't have any stock value left...he has spent the past 3 years out with injury, comes back and gets hurt again. Barcia is worth way more than Canard and for that reason I say he ends up on Kawasaki with RV or in 22's rig along side Deano. Deano may go to the factory rig along side RV which makes more sense.

I think Anderson stays in lites another year to run the #1 plate for KTM then moves up to their factory rig.

Honda will have to tap Seely and Tomac to ride under their tent since that is the only real options they have but I don't think Tomac is digging the Honda 450 too much. You can see it in his riding. He needs to jump to Kawi but I thought that is where he should have signed to begin with...as a fan.

Either way it will be fun to watch and interesting how it plays out.

I don't think it's fair to put Tomac in this list.. While the others haven't lived up to their potential, Tomac is still in his rookie season and started it off with an injury.

I'd be surprised if JGR is considering riders without any stock value.

I kinda see what you're saying. Kinda. But I doubt breaking femurs is fun. It's not like Trey is out with doing hookers & blow...at least I don't think so. He's gotten hurt on the job and has lots of potential value in my opinion.

Canard made those decisions to crAsh he was controlling the bike and pace and repeated crashes signify a pattern of poor choices god bless me for being mean but truthfull

If Jason Anderson wins the west title he is automatically booted out of the 250 class. The rule says that if you have been in the class for 3 years and win the title you get moved up. Points totals from previous years do not matter. Anderson is in year 4.

Wil Hahn would have probably liked to defend his #1 plate since he never even won a race until last year but the rule got him also. Tickle and PC were caught by surprise by this as well.
