The first post 'innocently' asking about these chains then suddenly representatives are in the thread pumping the product. Talk about a staged, shameless, and pitifully obvious attempt at plugging your product, guys. I won't try them for that reason alone… Bush league.
Paul i will give Mika a look, to be honest didn't know anything about them.
Edit: Google is my friend. www.mikametals.com
It's pretty obvious, the OP account is basically brand new, still has only 6 total posts at the time of this writing. The second post, by pure coincidence I'm sure, is basically a press release about how you've switched suppliers and fixed all the problems from the old run of product. Of course this turns out to be from a person closely related to the owner but has no vested interest in the brand. Uh huh… Right…. I've got some ocean front property for sale in Arizona also….
I've seen this type of crap a million times on numerous forums, it's quite easy to spot. If you have a good product, get the word out the old fashioned way; hard work, pound the pavement, word of mouth and PAY for advertising…. GuyB offers such a service on this very site, imagine that.
Pit Row
Thanks for the replies everyone I am still considering trying them or not
On the other hand getting in a back-and-forth with the mob is a lose-lose situation. You can't win no matter how sincere or logical your argument. Consider the audience, this place will argue over shades of grey while blindfolded.
I'm not saying that forking over a bunch of free chains is fair or right. But it sure beats the alternative.
I will say this tho...I used DT1 filters on my last bike and I was VERY happy with them.
It just sucks that a person is taking as much shit as you are in this thread.
I dunno about the rest of you, but had I had a chain private labeled by the same mfgr that does RK's chains (I love RK chains) then I'd feel pretty damn good about that product after it had passed my testing process. If the mfgr changes things up it's a bit out of the brand's control. Aston Martin is recalling EVERY SINGLE CAR THEYVE MADE the last few years because a supplier duped them on their plastic gas pedals. A brand's hands are tied in that sorta situation.
This is why it would have been better had Paul or his brother just ignored this thread and let it die a quick death. Which is lame. What I'd give to get a chance to talk to the owner of T-Mobile or Visa the next time they screw me over. I dunno. Maybe Im the lame one, but anytime I see the owner of a company willing to talk directly to his customer base and fix any issues, I think it is a blessing and shouldnt be a situation where the owner is blasted into thinking that joining this thread was a mistake.
(DISCLAIMER: no, I dont work for Mika, DT1, RK or any affiliated comapny of their's nor have I ever. This is not a paid post. I have no dog in this fight. I am just an average Jabroni who likes the simple things in life like boxed wine, killing rats, and sniffing glue)
On a side note to the others on here. I can't say anything about Mika products yet, but correspondence with Mika has been very good. And that is not the norm these days
Some of you could lay off the Red Bull a little.
