The word Mugen makes 45+ racers stop taking mid conversation. Mugen is the final word in vintage trickness. Prices of anything can be 10x of what they originally sold for. Yet most parts end up on dust collectors just waiting for the owner to die so thier kids can sell them on eBay to fund thier daughter in laws pool.
It's rare if anyone talks about how Mugen parts perform. Are they just soooo good that only Baby Jesus deserves to experience the power or can a good tuner match the performance with some time and a few sharp porting bits?

Let ya know in a couple months. Lol. Just squeezed a 1980 waterpumper Mugen out of Sir Newmann. It's almost all together now. I'll have it out at Unadilla Rewind in May.

That brings back memories. A buddy of mine raced a mugen kitted '80 CR125 back in the day.

I know in the HPP cr125 motors, you cannot replicate the mugen port timing with a stock barrell, and the mugen parts are meant to be badass.

Jmmx, lovely bike.
See you're riding at four marks too, so you can't be too far away from me.
Is that a later CR front end in there?

I'm currently building a '90 125 (134 ported for low/mid for hare and hounds racing) with a '91 rear end like the factory bikes, and CRF front end.

Hrc Semi factory front and rear, four marks was rough doesn't look it on the video, i need to get it set up, think I will wait till it drys up a bit, I'm at emsworth about half hour from there.

Very nice!

I found four marks reasonably rough, and that was on a well sorted KTM 200 EXC.

It's all the big jumps to flat that make you feel it, especially as you're landing in everyone's accelerating bumps.

I'm only over in Kent. The bike should be ready to go by April, so give is a shout if you get the CR out over the summer.

Assuming its a '93 with the castrol decals and white plastic. It looks ace. Got a full pic?

What classes will you be riding? Are you going to ride the harescrambles on Friday with your MR?

Bike looks great. Looks like a lot of work went into that.

Did you get the bolts replated, or buy new?
Not sure what to do with mine.

It just gets tricker and tricker.

The missus would murder me if I went and bought a full set of Titanium bolts.

Some more to go on.

Like the brake pedal guard.

Do the linkage parts change the riding rate, or are they just lighter?

Not put it on, but changes the progression rate.

I ride pretty much every class I can enter. Think I rode 11 classes over the 3 days last year. I have #60 on all my bikes, look me up if you go again. Not sure if I'll race the MR or the 81 CR125 in the cross country this year. Raced the MR last year.
