No one says he had to jump every jump. Hell there was only about a lap and a half left. He has NO IDEA where anyone else is, so remount and roll around as quick as possible and you never know where everyone else will finish. Salvage every single point you can, period. Too bad if you DNF you don't automatically get 20th place points. That's the way it should be.

Bubba is bubba, we wait each week for him to implode. He by far crashes move than any other SX rider out there. He is the fastest man on the planet in timed practice all the time. But when it comes to the mental side, and the mains, he has been a train wreck the last couple years. Bubba is not racing for Championships any longer. He is racing for the paycheck.

Get a clue before you make a dumbass comment like that . Magoo did it on a Open 2stroke outdoors....if you ever seen that cat ride you'd know what that meant.

There are some idiots on this board. There is not one guy in the 450 class...not one...that would try and ride a bike bent up like that around a track to try and save a few points. Not RV, not Dungey...no one!

He shouldn't have rode that bike just as he decided! Anyone with common sense can see that. If you don't agree, well... you need to get over yourself.

Yea he shoulda just jumped right on that huh?

On an SX track? Get real.

I love Magoo like no other, but how'd that work for him on an SX track?

Do people think here any more?

He ran straight to his bike after the crash. You cant ride sx with bars like that

That's it.

I'm offering somebody 100$ For someone to yardsale at there local track and bend their bars that bad.... And complete 5 more laps

Vet track and or main track's only.

Helmet cam/ go pro/ video of said crash. Along with two witnesses. and multiple photos.

Then and only then will i possibly respect your he should have rode it out, to salvage points sayings. (Even then you are not on a sx track)

So who's down for the challenge?

I won't yardsale cause I don't want to crash, but give me some bent bars and I'll do it, the speed I ride it won't be a problem! Cool

It's pretty easy to criticize when it's not your ass on the line. How about you ask Canard and Morias what it's like to not jump every jump?

James did the right thing by not finishing. There was no reason for him to go back out there just to appease a few morons on a message board. He scored 17th place points, and that's better than nothing. From the video he posted, he didn't look too banged up, so he should be back next week ready to go.

I get so frustrated. Not only with his luck but also the people saying that he doesn't try. James was far and away the fastest man on the track as he started about mid pack and was about to catch Kenny (who rode brilliantly, btw).

Last year everyone complained saying he was settling for 5th and 6th etc and not really trying to win, not being Bubba and having that burning desire to win. This year, first race, he is killing it and going for the win and just an unfortunate kick sends the bike flying.

The guy can't win with the media or a lot of the fans. Aggravates me to hell.
couldnt have said it any better, js7 has ALOT of haters, personally, he is my favorite rider and always pushes to his limits to win. when RV crashes, no one says anything but when james crashes, theres countless posts on how hes not a good rider and such... smh

no shit!

First and foremost, riding around at half speed, rolling the jumps, is a danger to the rest of the riders on the track, so who gives a fuck is James could or couldn't continue with extremely bent bars. It ain't all about James.

he made the right decision, although I imagine it was hardly a decision for him after he looked at his taco'd bars.

Besides the whole "It's Dangerous" argument for rolling your way around an SX track, there's also the fact that even if he did do it, even if he were to double everything while rolling the whoops and triples (and missing the tables), he'd be giving up at least 20 seconds per lap to those behind him, wouldn't you say? So with 4-5 laps to go they'd make up more than a minute on him, un-lap themselves.

Then you add the danger of other riders back in. The fact that he was sore, pissed, possibly dazed, and probably in shock at yet another season starting off in the shitter. All this and we don't even know if his bike would've started.

I'm pretty sure when RV wadded at MEC there was ALOT of talk about him crashing... But a frontend wash and finishing fourth is a bit less DRAMAtic then, say... laying it on the line for the WIN, wadding it up in a violent crash that could have ended the season!

Understand?

To the OP, take what you read by complete strangers with a lot less weight, it affects your life none.

His average lap times were under 59 sec coming through the pack.

That wreck not withstanding, James had that one in the proverbial "bag". Going to be a good season.

I agree. I have friends that are villopoto fans and they dont want to talk about RV pulling that rookie move in the heat or his dirt sample in the main, all they want to talk about is Stewie crashing . His bike swapped in the whoops just like everybody else did at one point or another. Its just that his stepped out a little more and it got him.

I dont agree with this. RV crashed, that means he was out of control. James was riding a near perfect race, looked smooth and consistent, until he swapped in the whoops. BOTH riders were perfectly under control, until they weren't, which resulted in them both crashing... It does not matter how bad the wreck was to determine if the rider was in control or not. Only difference is that James' crash was worse.

Those kind of crashes make me think I'm glad I don't race supercross for a living. The days of McGrath cruising to another easy win are gone. Today there is so much talent up front that pushing into the red zone is required to win.

Why could they not just change the bar. It`s not like its welded on to the triple clamp
