Jason Upshaw was the one that had the infamous crash at the LA Coliseum. He would later put "Jason Lives" on the back of his pants.

I can still remember the sound of Dennis Hawthorne's bike! That was the sweetest sounding 250 I ever heard outside of a full factory bike.

I met Ross in '98 at Mosier (regular winter series race). I hole shot and led 2 laps before he blew by me on the straight with a couple tables on it, just after the start. I was going as fast as I thought I could and he flew by me, 3ft lower and a gear higher. He was nice enough to give me a few pointers. I will have to look tonight, pretty sure I have a good pic of us racing at Whitney (that same year) as well.
I believe he was making 125sx mains at the time and I was pumped to at least be somewhat competitive.
I think Rusty Pipes is Dustin Pipes' dad. I think I remember someone mentioning that on the Supercross broadcast once.
