I just read an older interview with Weston Peick and was wondering if anyone has heard if you has a full on sponser or not. I know he said he was still riding Zooks unless he got a ride from someone else running a different brand, but I've not heard anything new with him. If anyone has any recent info, I'd be interested to hear it. I hope he gets some good support this year. Sponsors could do a LOT worse than help out Weston.

I think he's getting some help from Yoshimura on a couple fronts.

He was riding the Pala Supercross track on Wednesday on his privateer Suzuki. Still healing up from his injury, but looks to be picking up the pace.

disgusting he hasn't been picked up yet for a ride. can't think of any case in recent history where a rider with his level of results hasn't fielded offers.

apocalypse looms for this sport if this dude can't get a ride.

da fuck are moto parents dropping cash for if the endgame is what it is right now?

Agree; hopefully he'll get some support like GuyB is mentioning. Hope it's enough for him to race SX and MX in 2014. Only if anyone could manage to find a little room under the Yoshimura tent w/ JS7 or over @ RCH for him...

What sponsors are you kidding?
The sponsors in this sport are only interested in about 5 different riders and if they can't get with those riders they won't sponsor any one else.

Why?

The mags and tv and any place else an image appears is focus on only a select set of riders. And you can guess who they are.

Want to help this situation?

Find ways to make those sponsors want to sponsor Peick and lot more like him.

Peick and the other 7-40th place riders are the majority not the minority.

The show cannot and will not exist with out them.

I saw in his interview on Transworldmx.com that he was going to get a little help from Yoshimura, but he didn't specify to what extent. I'd bet it's mostly parts and tech support. It's a shame Suzuki doesn't have a good/if any contingency. He'd have done pretty well money wise if it was decent. Man, I can't help but to think that RCH could get him at a really good price. Hell, even a backup to Stewart on the Yosh team. At least haul his bike to the races. I'm really hoping he puts it to a bunch of upper level guys this year. I don't see too many pictures of Weston with a big smile on his face, but it's pretty cool when he does.

Yoshimura, Fly, I believe one of the bigger on-line parts co's...still workin on final touches...many of his "hardware" sponsors are staying...Weston & Lou like A Lot of the people they've been working with & have a pretty good program going.

I realize that it seems like the Teams & Sponsore could be stepping in; but, you also won't believe the amount of effort Yoshimura has gone thru to find the resources to help Weston. Things in the OEM world are still really thin.

Some of his Sponsors like FLY have been stepping up & making things HAPPEN!
(Shout out to Max & JT$!)

I. personally, advocated "Doing their Own Thing" versus the few offers that they did get. Why? Well, it seems to me he has things figured out on the Zook & he's one of the Very Few riders on a 450 that actually "Improved" in 2013...and...On his Own, thank you.

2014:
Improve the Bike/Set-Up to an "Equal Footing" w/ Competition (or Better!)
Continuously Develop & Maintain an on-going Sponsorship pkg
Maintain the Resources to compete at an "Continuosly Improving Pace"
Build for 2015

I'm very Stoked.

He has some cool stuff brewing for 2014 being able to do his own thing. A few sponsors are stepping up to help. I just saw something on the FreeRacingPoker.com Facebook page. Check it out. May give you some hints to what's happening.

Hey Team Green - sounds like you are close to the situation - cool updates thanks.
I hope he gets to race all the rounds in SX and MX as I believe he will get some really good season overall results.
