Moto 5 Movie

Edited Date/Time 11/21/2013 11:55am
Is it just me or are Moto movies not what they used to be. Think of the first time you saw the SMP video, the first Crusty, MotoXXX 1, or the first Children of a Metal God, or Full Power Trip (one of my favs). You were shocked, and not just by the conduct of the participants. I dont get that anymore. Is it because we have seen it all?

I watched it and really loved it.
If you want shock value, watch Miley Cyrus. If you want a movie with amazing talent, crazy dessert riding etc go with The Moto

i was not really into Moto2, but i've heard great things about Moto5.

that said, there really is nothing like the moto videos of old. i remember watching TerraFirma and just itching for another one... number 2 blew my mind with all the MC parts. i was the biggest MC fan back then, and when he made small parts in other videos i bought them.

Steel Roots was definitely one of my all time favorites, still is. SteelRoots 2 sucked.

i too miss the days of watching videos of the juggernauts of the sport getting plowed at Havasu and most likely banging copius amounts of puss

I was feeling like that until Moto 4 came out. Great cinematography 16:9 and HD have taken the new gen moves to a new level. that said I'm looking forward to watching Moto 5 in my personal cinema room on an 84" screen with a some friends suds and other things

I like all of The Moto films, I like the new way they shoot them. I think they have learned alot and the options to shoot are infinite today. Just watch The Art Of Flight (snowboard film but still) the scenary and the editing they can do today makes it even interesting for a person who knows nothing about snowboarding. But I remember watching Relish every day for a year and was as entertained evey single time I watched it.

i think its just that we've seen it all and you were probably a kid when you saw the original VHS vids like Crusty, MotoXXX, Fly, Disturbing the Peace (my personal fav) it was awesome because you didnt see dirtbikes everyday, there was no youTube, etc ..

i dont get excited about the new films either, but i sure did love the old ones and still do.

I just cracked open the box I had of old VHS dirt bike vids. Had a blast watching them. The old videos seem to depict more of the reason we all got into this. It showed a bunch of buddies, not everyone was an extreme example of talent, but they we're all having fun. The new videos show more of what it takes to be at that top level. I have respect for both but seem to still enjoy the older ones a little bit more.

yessir, the new riding videos are pretty much manufactured riding areas that most of us will never get the chance to ride..

its awfully cool to see places like ocotillo, sandpits, dunes, desert riding and see riders throwing down cause the rest of us can go there for the most part..

I remember when the first On The Pipe video came out and thought to myself wow, id be stoked just to go to some of those ranches and see those massive green rolling hills lol

I really like the new videos a lot, and they are incredibly well made, but I feel like they lack the excitement of the older ones. I'm not sure if it is because they are not as quickly paced, or if it is the music, but something in the raw excitement is missing. Not that I don't enjoy the new ones, the editing is leaps and bounds better, but the raw action of the older videos just appealed to me more. Maybe I'm biased though since terrafirma 2 is what got me into riding, that movie was EPIC!.

Something died in moto movies when Pat Solomon quit directing. "Organ Donors" was an absolute work of art. That said Moto5 had a couple segments that had a throwback feel to them with old-school punk and freeriding in the hills.........

I liked Moto5. It started out awesome but the last few segments kind of seemed just thrown together, they just didn't have the impact the opening three-four did.

I'm also a McGrath fan, ended up wearing out the tape on my VHS copy of Steel Roots. And I thought Crusty 3 was so badass that I wore SMP gear when I first started racing.

Replace the beats with some punk rock and it would have been perfect.

You Bro's will critique a damn peanut butter n jelly sandwich if it was a thread on here. "Your peanut butter to jelly ratio was off man" - in a nerdy high pitch voice.

Moto 5 was awesome! Job well done by them dudes.
