So I tried posting this in the race shop section and didn't get much feed back. So I'm trying here

Where is the oddest place you have had to store your bike for a long period of time. I am storing my bikes at my dads shop. But due to family issues that's kind of not panning out well. I think I might hav to store my bikes in my spare bedroom for a while. Has anyone else had to do anything like this?

This was my college apartment for quite sometime. 4 hours from home and I couldn't handle not riding so it came to this.

A long time ago in a land far away, an inebriated Skerby may or may not have rode a Klx 110, wide ass open, through downtown Port *****. Ghost rode it into one of the biggest bushes I've ever seen while I did some shopping at AM PM. Hard as EFF to find the thing, but letting that little pit bike scream all the way back up the hill through town made it all worth it.

I kept 2 bikes in my 1br apartment on the fourth floor when i was living in the city, the elevator was tiny and had to take the front end off every time getting in and out. Also did all the maintenance work on them there, bled the brakes and flooded the hardwood with brake fluid.. Lost my damage deposit on that placeSilly

I have a buddy that rides his bike up the stairs to his second story apartment and keeps it in his on bedroom. The neighbor said a guy used to own a harley and did the same thing. You can see oil stains on the ground from it. The stair well isn't ultra wide either. Not sure how the dude did it.

In 2003 I was working for a KTM shop in Daytona Beach and got one of the first 450SX that hit the US. For whatever reason, the day I got it I took it home to my third story apartment so I could stare at it a while. I would normally leave my bikes at the shop and not worry about it plus the owner liked me displaying my race bike on the showroom floor to give the place more of a racing feel for customers. Anyway, that same night some "locals" tied a chain to the front door and ripped it down. They got a few things before running off but I would imagine had my brand new shiny 450 been sitting there it would have gone. From that day on until I moved a year or so later, 4-5 times a week I would have to haul what I was riding at the time up 2 flights of stairs with tight 180 landings in the middle. Luckily, or somewhat luckily, the 2003 KTM 450 was a big pile of shit so after blowing it up 3 times in the first 3 weeks of having it gave it back and got 2 250sx instead, which was about 30 lb lighter and much easier to get up stairs.

I have a 79 RM60 on top of my office here at work. No stairs, only a ladder. It's been up there so long I really don't remember how we got it up there.....Unsure

I kept an '06 450x in my living room for a winter....

I had a two car garage and a large pole building at the time, but out there I couldn't look at and smell the bike as easily. heh heh

I attempted to rebuild a Borg Warner Super T10 tranny in my bedroom at my parents house. New gear lube stinks like hell, that old nasty stuff is reeeeeaaaaallllly bad. Abandoned that ship when I got parts prices on the buggered parts!

I used to roll my xr50 in the front door of our house Ad lean it against the wall when I was too lazy to take it out back to the shop, we also did a complete bike assembly in our living room once so we could watch tv while we worked. My old man once rebuilt a pair offorks in a hotel sink once years ago.

I know someone who used to keep a Maico 490 in his bathroom, when he got back from the pub he'd ride it around the house in the early hours of the morning, bearing in mind it was a 2 bedroomed terraced house in the middle of Coventry and those things are damn load lol

I stored mine under the over hang of our fifth wheel camper on my 8 month Southern California vacation. I was 45 minutes from Pala.

Oh you gotta name and shame... i could probably have heard it from here...

One year i got broken into , lost my 89 RM to some local scummers, but luckily i got it back , garage door was beyond fixing, so it sat in the back of the living room , was on the run up to christmas , and we didnt have room for the bike AND a tree...... so we hung some tinsel off the bars , and wrapped some lights round it. Was a proper good idea till the guys decided to go riding between Xmas and New Year.

I won't say who it was, but it was in Paradise (maybe the most ironically named place in Britain). Easy to see why he kept it in his upstairs bathroom living round there lol

I used to have my cr125 on a shelf in our shop. It was up on a stand and held to the wall by a tie down! But recently, it was taken down and has gotten ridden a few times.

I keep mine in my house. Also ride there, too. Some primo single track that most people call "stairs."

I absolutely HAD to go riding one weekend last year, and had nothing with a hitch, so I loaded my 125 into the car and off we went. I would never attempt it with my 450. It'd be way more awkward and heavier.

Never stored my bike anywhere crazy, but a couple times in college I tore it down so it'd fit in the back seat and trunk of my girlfriends Jetta, lot easier to afford to travel to race on 35mpg vs 16mpg! Actually podiumed the A class at a few National Offroad events traveling that way.

Some guy I knew that was a huge stoner / coke head (allegedly) was having a party one night. We went over there and he says hey I got a couple bottles hidden in the attic. Go grab em. So I pull the attic ladder down climb up to see 3 vintage z50s. They were nice. And I'm like dude those are sweet! He's like yea I keep pulley them up there so some of my druggie acquaintances aren't tempted to lift them.

My spare bedroom is fifteen feet by 22 feet so it's plenty big but the narrow flight of stairs probably about 4.5 feet wide an 18 stairs causes a little bit of a problem

When one of my buddies was in college, we would go riding then drop him off at the college. He had a friend that had a dorm room to himself and let him keep his CR250 in his room. It was funny as shit because his friends room was kind of in a basement. When we would pick him up, you would hear this CR250 fire up, Wing! Wing! Wing! and my buddy would go storming up the basement stairs and launch a few feet in the air. It looked like he was flying out of the Earth. The other funny thing was that none of us knew that his friend that was kind enough to let him keep his bike in his room would go on to become a Hollywood actor. His friend was Josh Stewart. He has had some good roles but he is probably most noted for having a leading roll in the Dark Knight being Bane's Friend in the movie.

I spent about 500 bucks on marine ply and 4x2 and built a container that comfortably fit 2 bikes. Built at the parents farm, packed it into a trailer flat, reassembled here at the apartment block in our car space.

Old mate strata guy tells me we've had a huge storage lockup and we never knew.

Facefuckingpalm!!!

Managed to sell it on and lost half, but at least it was an excuse to buy a nice new drill! Woohoo

Stored my bike in the dinner room a couple of years ago before I got a valid insurance for it. Ahh...good times.
