HI guys, ok I hope to show some updates again soon, I need to reply though as I appreciate it's taking a long time and I get many emails on this project.
Unfortunately this is not so much because of any other reason than that my business is very very busy and I am the only person doing the work.
This project started out as an enquiry from a friend and has spiralled since then and I have lots of engine work gong on.
One thing I need to get across is that I only intend to machine these for the 84 & 85 cr125 at this time as that's what my has and as I have had many enquiries for other bikes I just cannot promise to get those done.
I will press on over the next few weeks and try to get the updates on here and possibly test the cover in the not too distant future.
I have already put many hours into this so please have faith as it is still sat on the machine waiting for my next spare day, it will get done and tested as soon as I get some spare time to machine the next stage.

Kind regards Rich.
Hi Rich ,

any update on the cover yet ? Thank you !

Max

Hi all, I run a small cnc engineering company in my spare time and it's pretty much bespoke motorcyle parts I make.
I have received a request from a customer to manufacture some billet aluminium clutch and waterpump covers for a 1985 CR125 to replace the heavily corroded magnesium ones he has, and was directed by the owner to this site to see if there is any more interest?
I also would be very interested to hear which years this would fit i.e. '84 and '86 etc.
So if there is any interest in these, please post here and also post any other info that may be useful.
Also we are aiming to make this from aircraft grade aluminium 6082-T6 which is a slightly stronger alloy than the 6061 spec.
It would be a new design to enable the clutch to be worked on without removing the whole cover.
The price would be kept as low as possible and is looking like £295 / $475 will be likely. Please bear in mind the cost of the aluminium billet required as it is substantial.

Kind Regards, Rich Bearcroft

Hi Guys been a long time, and I have done more on these, however it's not something I get much time to do and I found a brand new Honda cover at my local shop so my original customer bought that, I could not believe they had one and they only found it clearing out old stock.
I will see this project through but time is at such a premium and it is a big task to finish.
If you really need one fast then the link above may be your only option for now.
I will as soon as possible press on with it, I am sorry it's taking so long but I am constantly snowed under by my regular work and I have to pay the bills!

Kind Regards

Richard

Nice manners, don't suffer with that sort of behaviour here so it's a shame you don't get your facts right either. It isn't a 5 minute job I work 2 full time jobs just to pay the bills so I REALLY DO NOT HAVE A LOT OF TIME ON MY HANDS. It's been sat on my machine for all this time because it's wrecked if I move it without finishing it completely, it's causing me headaches tying up the machine which slows my other work but I would love to get it done as there seems very little else available, very sorry about that but if everybody is that pissed off then I see no point anymore.
Maybe there is a reason nobody else has bothered!
I have spent countless hours on it already, and it's never been anywhere near $700 dollars either, where did you get that from?
Not to worry, I understand it's taking ages so if nobody is prepared to wait any longer, let me know so I can bin it and use my machine.

Kind regards

Rich.

Well i dubt that will inspire him to go on with his project. If you dont have anything good to say then dont open your mouth.
And for the record, if you gonna complain, make a cover yourself.

I dont think many people understand how much work it's to make a copy.

I hope the cover will be finish, just as much as everybody else who has a cr with rotten cover. I hope my cr125r 1986 will brap some day. cause it's amazing bike.

Keep the good work up =)

Why sign on under a different screen name to talk shit instead of your regular name? What are you afraid of? Or have you been lurking for months in the corner with a busted water pump cover and now you find your voice?

I have clutch covers new in aluminium for the 1986 Honda CR125. They don't show up as the same part number but I haven't tried to fit them on a 1984 or 1985. I have heard talk that they are interchangeable but cannot vouch for that.
Are you interested to make HONDA RACING ignition covers for the 1986 CR125? These will fit the 1984 and 1985.

Hi does that new cover fit a 83 cr 125 if so I will take one .

This cover is for the 1986 CR125 and will fit a 1985 with a 1986 impeller. The same guy has covers for the 1983 CR125. evosrus@hotmail.co.uk ask for Warren Berthiaume.

Hi

I bought a cover from evorus and it works great, prefect fitment and all sealings fits good Smile

Sadly the threads for the oil drain plug is gone and gearbox is stuck at first gear Sad so i have to fix that before i ride it again. Enought OT

I can strongly recommend buying from evorus. You wont regret it Smile

Not to hijack the thread, but is anyone making a replacement cover for the '85 CR250R? I see there is a dude from Australia that is making sand cast covers for the '84 CR250R. I was lucky enough to find an NOS cover for mine, but would like to have a spare... Thanks.

Here is the latest cad model of the billet cover with the clutch inspection cover also fitted to it.

Rich

hi,
I want to ask if it is possible to give me the 3D model of the cover with the clutch. I would like to make (in the CNC) in the same way like you did. If is possible in Step or IGS extension or any CATIA extension. Thanks in advance.
