That is a nice looking MT. You will need shocks for sure, and you can easily mod the forks. Either use 73-4-5 cr 250 dampening rods and 20 wt oil, or go with race tech emulators. That said, it is hard to beat the 73-4 Husky, either cr or wr model, if you can find one..

Nice find! Try HotFoot Moto for the chain slider parts. E-Pay for the beake pedal. Good luck and have fun with it.

Nice find. I would pull it apart and clean/lube and replace what's needed. Ride for a while with the original patina. It might be a combo that you don't want to break up. Down here, every Maico guy has their bike looking like a museum piece with all the billet parts etc but I've not seen one with the Simons/Fox...

I think it would be better to weld some material in the holes and re drill. A lot of people use grade 8 bolts instead of the pins. This way keeps the ears from spreading apart again.

The panel allows access to the bolt that secures the air filter. Instead of fishing around in there like the regular guys did.

The best thing I've found if you ride/race the thing is Duplicolor ceramic engine paint. Chevy orange 1620. Way more durable than the Colorite flash red, 1/2 the price. Use dark primer and it's a very good match. If you are going to keep the thing a long time, and use it, I don't recommend powder for the frame. Too...

The eby ones work ok, I agree with foghorn though. I had to adjust the lower outputs a bit. Be careful with used 87's. I bought a set, sent them to Mylar's and they could not be repaired.

I raced them in 84-85 and the suspension was great. It did have a lot of moving parts to maintain, but it's demise was due to several reasons (according to a friend that worked at Suzuki) 1- Patent as stated above 2- Too much weight up high 3- Expensive to manufacture

Too bad, solid looking bike. There has to be an easier solution out there somewhere. Honda made a ton of water coolers with mag cases, and there are still a lot of 85-88 250's and 500's running in PV classes, I see a lot less 125's the past couple of years though.

I use an 87 m/c on my 85. Bolts right up. I think I still have the original 85 m/c and caliper, they work. If you are interested let me know
