i was just trolling. someone must of edited my post of the giveaway.

to the guy complaining about pala and elsinore, there are good tracks in california, just no where to park and cater to as many people that will show up to a national. those tracks may suck for nationals, but they at least they can fit more than 200 people.

LMAO!

ME CRY???? ME?!??!?!?!!?! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. That is some funny crap right there,

I would only comment on all you whiners out there and your conspiracy theories. Remember, I have been called "Cheerleader" on more than one occasion. Bring on GH! Stoked to see it back. Didn't matter either way, but if it got you conspiracy theorists what you wanted GREAT! You won't see me crying about anything.

With all the whining and bashing you did, I better see a photo book of all the great times you had at the race this coming May.

Yes, I know your opinion. You made it very clear. Again, glad it is back on the schedule. Either way I like the way the national series is looking these days.

Looking forward to your race report after the race this next year! Smile

Here is a Outsider quote to freshen your memory-

"Well, now that Mitch says it, maybe cheerleaders like Regis will STFU..

No hate on MXsports or DC, but comon already!"

So, am I a Cheerleader or a crier, or a crying cheerleader? Get it straight! Smile

Aaaaand lookey what happened!!! Woohoo

If we all just rolled over like you, we'd have...

a) have outdoor races in your local Walmart parklot, and

b) Have a searing pain in our rectal cavities!

I'll take, races back at glen helen and an intact rectum for a $1000 alex! or regis! Laughing Laughing

Unless someone has definite word, Hangtowm came the weekend before GH the last time GH was on the calendar Memorial Day weekend. itd basically be the same weekend it was this year. Not sure why you'd have to change things up.

Over the years, the schedule has changed, tracks have come, tracks have gone. It's interesting that certain tracks hold a sacred place in our hearts and bring out so many emotions.

1972 MX Schedule:

April 16 - Road Atlanta (Atlanta, GA)
May 7 - Desoto Cycle Ranch (Memphis, TN)
May 14 - Cal-Expo (Sacramento, CA)
May 21 - Saddleback Park (Orange, CA)
May 28 - Carlsbad (Carlsbad, CA)
June 11 - Snyder Park (Washington, IN)
June 18 - Tahoe (Tahoe Vista, CA)
June 25 - Owyhee M/C (Boise, ID)
July 2 - Straddle Line Park (Olympia, WA)
July 8 - Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum (Los Angeles, CA)
July 16 - Unadilla (Unadilla, NY)
July 23 - Moto-Sports Racing Circus (Elkhorn, WI)
July 30 - Mid-Ohio (Lexington, OH)
Sept 2 - Alabama International Speedway (Talladega, AL)
Oct 1 - Honda Hills (Columbus, OH)
Oct 8 - Mid-American Motocross (St Peters, MO)
Oct 15 - Road Atlanta (Atlanta, GA)

17 rounds with very few off weeks, lots of cross country travel, a stadium event, a track with 2 rounds, and only 1 of those tracks is still on the schedule today (and had a stint where it wasn't).

Interesting stuff to say the least. What would the Vitards have said about that schedule back in the day if Al Gore had already invented the internet?

I don't think you can compare e 72 schedule. The races were mixed in with Trans AMAs and maybe some Inter Ams as well. It wasn't a stand alone series. That may have been the case as well in 73. But you're right, that in the 70s there were a lot of tracks in play, especially when the classes ran at different tracks ( which wasn't the case at every round, they doubled up at some tracks and Hangtown opened the 74 series with a triple header of all three classes)

When MotoKid says its on Memorial Day? That means he'll be on a Big'Ol Cat-Tractor building the track during the weeks leading up to it!

I get it's not apples to apples, but it's interesting to look back at historical schedules and see how things have changed. Just the fact that you bring up having 3 classes at one round in 74 is a big change from what we have today. I think back to when the 125s ran the full schedule and the "premier" classes were the 250 and 500 classes and they ran a split schedule. It's just interesting to follow the evolution of the sport and sometimes, it's nice to still have ties to our history and tradition in what we do today.

I was at Glen Helen saturday night at the 24 hour race in between rider swaps on our team, I grabbed my phone to check the MEC and saw the announcement and could not believe it!! Started telling people on our team and through the pits and word spread like wildfire. Felt pretty damn cool to be racing at Glen Helen when the announcement was actually made.

Couldn't be happier to see it back on the schedule. I've been to both Pala and Elsinore for their nationals, and it was fun and different no doubt, however getting into and out of those two places was nothing short of a joke. One way in and out for both venues is not cool. I'll never forget last year at elsinore when they ran out of water to sell around 1pm and it was hovering around 105 degree's. THAT was a joke.

If elsinore is still on the schedule thats fine with me, but I might not be there. I WILL be at glen helen though. Racing in socal in May is not too bad weather wise. Racing here at the end of august is a little bit warm for most people, so its good to see GH in its traditional month of may.

So does this mean the powers that be are going to be going back to more natural terrain motocross's and have learned that outdoor supercross's suck? Motocross is natural terrain and jumps, period. Now if they would just bring back southwick, gainesville, broom-tioga, and maybe even steel city that would be an outdoor series to watch again!

May 2014 has 5 weekends, Vegas is on the 3rd then there is the 10th then the following weekend is the 17th, then the 24th (Glen Helen) which is also Memorial Weekend (26th) and finally the 31st Plenty of room for Hangtown in there and everyone should support it it's a great race.

I hope MXsports doesn't make them chop it down to a 2:00 lap time. Use all the hills. Especially this one for more cool shots like this.
