Well actually it was $8500 OTD and it was in CT! Lol! And yes, "rocketsocks26" (you can explain the name later bro!) is BIGTIME blown away with the Ohlins. I only have a few hours on my bike and havent really spent any time dialing it since just getting back into after a bit of a layoff. But, I am loving the KTM overall! Prob could have bought ANY of the other colors cheaper...actually could have gone green for 2k cheaper! But I am very impressed with the Orange bike and, so far, think its just gonna rock! It is by far the coolest looking bike I have ever owned and with the Factory Edition its just way cooler looking again!

As for the Ohlins.......man it's tough to not seduced into the shiny "gold bits"! Lol!

Still had to put the frame guards on when I took pic and being 5' 5" I also went with the lower optional seat which doesnt look quit as trick as the "stock seat" that come on the FE.

Yea....they were a pleasure to deal with. Just nice folks. Delt with Josh. No more FE I am afraid though. I know Hanover Power Sports in NJ has one. Uh...I think there may be one out in RI somewhere. There are a few still hanging around but they are getting scarce. Only 555 made avail from KTM. But....aside from the extra "bling" (although there are some cool extras with the FE) the 2014 is prob a slightly more refined bike overall. But the FE shares the same engine case upgrades which is the biggest thing. Other than that its basically the same bike with slightly different valving in suspension and latest front brake design.

I think my 13 KTM 450 suspension is pretty damn good right off the showroom. I don't get all the bashing of the stock KTM suspension. Maybe I got lucky and somehow got different valving from the factory? Not only me, a friend that is pretty picky about suspension rode it and liked it.

Maybe I'm just too dumb to notice good from bad Smile

LOL, that's mty bike, and garage!

Ohlins is the cure for KTM suspension woes. I won't ever waste my time with anything else.

Or you don't get talked into the idea the suspension is lackluster for an amateur.

But in the end it's all subjective, some like it and some don't. The ones that like it are the ones that keep the money in their pocket. (or can spend it on other goodies)

That's why I asked about the hours. The more I have on my stock suspension, the more i'm leaning towards no revalve.

It's hard to get a true review on the ohlins when one has just spent 3500 on suspension, your brain wants to love it.

Just like the brain says the WP's need work either way, because it's written all over every review.
The fact it needs work depends on your posture and preference. Not on the fact that it's a stock WP.
Stockers work fine for me (and i ride an 03 sx...go figure), and allot of other people that i know. It seems to be the main complaint over on the other side of the pond tho, and i really wonder why. (honestly i do, are the US stockers sprung different??)

(my posts are not meant to be judging the OP and people that throw new Ohlins setups under their bikes, if i had the cash to throw around i would do the same because i like the bling of those babies)

So, SXS hardware wasn't considered? Btw, don't be too surprised when you see a Swing-Arm change over at Orange...and... Red.
10/13/2013 3:06pm
Markee, its not hard for me to love ohlins, I had 8 revalves with wp n hated every single one. I have countless hrs messing with that junk. Mx tech did a good job but it was $2300. Ohlins feels very plush n goes where u want it. Theres NO harshness n isnt dramatcally diffrent from track to track. Ive had my headache with them. They take the fun outta riding.

Team green yes sxs was considered, but I got a insane deal on the ohlins. And I live within miles of a big online tuner. So the personal set up out weighed the sxs stuff.
