Hey guys. I haven't been here in a while... A friend of mine, Luc1 Motorsport supermoto owner, Ludo asked me to come race the Mettet Supermoto race in Belgium next weekend in Belgium. I haven't been riding nor training in a while but decided to do it. It's a class where there aren't any supermoto riders I guess, just riders from MX, Road racing and stuff. I'm way out of shape and never rode SM but I had fun riding for the first time yesterday. I will only have 2 days of riding on asphalt before the race and obviously will not be race ready but I hope to have fun. To tell you the truth, I was really rusty the first few laps but I improved and had a lot of fun. I won't win nor race for a podium spot but it's cool to have fun riding again. Haven't had this feeling for at least 4/5 years. Just wanted to post some news and a picture since it's the first thing I've done moto related in months! Hope all is well and I should be back stateside next month.

PS: I know I'm overweight, I know I should put my leg out (I'm more comfortable with my foot on the peg), I know my result will suck but keep it G Rated please ;-)

He's really good. He raced SM a bunch before coming back to MX. He won Mettet last year

Glad to hear you're riding again and having a great time; that's what it's about...and the "fat" thing: You're allowed that. Don't go to the gym, just buy a big-bore kit...it'll solve all your problems.

I got into Supermoto after I stopped racing too. I did a lot of local So Cal races and even the first national at Laguna Seca. Man, it sure was a lot of fun. Probably the funnest form of riding I have ever done. Have fun man!

I still think this sport has the potential to be much more popular than it is right now. Anybody that tries it, loves it.

Glad to see you're having a blast with it David.

i rode that AMA race too , was a hoot , 10 factory KTM's and a ran 5th in the open main till old age and lack of talent caught up with me ... beat Mickey Dymond , so i'll have that.

Mettet is an immense event , done it for 10 years but this year it clashes with the last round of the German series , which i need to be at , gutted cos would be cool to see DV getting into it ... supermoto is addictive, and great fun.

You have to try ice riding next. We plow an oval track and a road course. Just a bunch of old dirt bikers making winter something to look forward too.

The time I did it I was scaping footpegs like crazy (oversize), don't know how you can keep your feet on the pegs for long.

Good luck David. Now just to be sure, is the race in Belgium or is it in Belgium?
