leave it as it is now but the 250 class must be stock bikes. Production means production. No engine work, just a pipe, and suspension mod (NO A kits), and ergonomic adjustment add ons like bars and seats.

If it stays like it is now, the 250 class should allow for 144 or 153cc 2 stroke. In no way a 125 can be competitive with a good 250F.

A well modified 153cc smoker on the other hand could make things interesting

I totally agree with your classes. We need a claiming rule. Also get the circuit to go from one city to another in an orderly way to cut
down on travel expenses. Sometimes east coast to west coast back to east really eats up a lot of fuel and sponsorship $$$$$$

125 2 stroke / 175-200 4 stroke.
250 2 stroke / 325 -350 4 stroke.

This WILL be great for our sport.
* Competitive choice between 2 or 4 stroke.
* Lower maintenance cost to race.
* More people doing their own maintenance (More riders = more maintenance and parts sales for shops as well)
* New bike sales will increase because 2 strokes will make a comeback, and the new displacement 4 strokes don't exist today. Over the next 6 -8 years sales of new bikes will increase.
* Also, this opens the door for Dads (and Moms) to teach their kids mechanical skills.
* Lower displacement = Slightly less speed = Less intense crashes = improved rider safety.

This will require a transition time to allow manufacturers to design and build the new bikes.

Pro Ranks
Allow 2 years for manufacturers Transition time for manufacturers to design and build smaller 4 strokes, and / or 2 strokes.
After the 2 years, the new rules are enforced for all pro racing (preferably worldwide). Especially the MXdN.

Amateur Ranks:
Allow 2 years to transition, then allow 250 4 strokes in the Lites class and 450's in the Premier class for 4 additional years with the following requirement:
* A required Rev Limiter or or other specified means to equalize the 250f or 450f performance to the power of the new displacements rules: 175 / 200 (Lites), or 325 / 350 (Premier). This would require careful consideration before being specified.

Another option always available is:
* 175/200 (lites) or 325 / 350 (Premier) factory or after market conversion kit for the 250f and 450f's to comply with the new displacement rules. This allows innovation in creating lower displacement kits that maximize performance for existing bikes.

After the 6 year transition time, all bikes must comply with the new displacement rules.

I think we should do this beginning today.

As for age requirements, leave them the way they are but add academic requirements to match playing other high school Sports. Since many of the kids will be home schooled, require an academic test to match grade level before each pro season.

Under 16s- 125 cc

16 - 18 y/o - 250 cc Any stroke

250- Any Stroke

Open- 450 cc Four stroke or 300 and over Two stroke

Don't fuck with this formula, "Just Do It"

This will use currently available bikes and I an sure the "past" OEM,s will step up to the plate with two strokes,.

This is how I'd do it...

Up to 150cc/2 Stroke=250cc/4 Stroke
Up to 300cc/2 Stroke=450cc/4 Stroke

I agree with not getting an AMA pro license until 18 years of age to race in the premiere classes and create a support class (see below) to allow the younger racers to compete and provide more opportunity to finish a HS Diploma.
Also, I would shorten the SX rounds to 12 rounds and keep the Outdoor Rounds at 12 rounds.

*During the SX series, I would go back to the original East/West Regional SX series, on 125cc Two Strokes and have the finals in Las Vegas. They could alternate an combined East/West Round between Dallas and Houston; odd years hold it in Houston, even years Dallas. Outdoors, they can have a 125cc Support Class for six rounds and WMX for six rounds. Allow the WMX racers the 150cc/2 Stroke or 250cc/4 Stroke option. For the 125 Regional SX and 125 Outdoor Support class, you can allow 16-18 year old racers to compete.

i think the big prob is the 250 f , they are too powerful no way should you be able to lap quicker than a 450 , leave the 450 cc class , and bring down the 250 to 175f , vs 150 two strokes , and you can run what ever you wan in the 450 cc , two or four stroke

Yes ^^^^ Simple is good.

I dont understand the need to limit small bore bikes to a certain age? Let them ride whatever bike regardless of age!! If an old boy who is 33 can ride a 125 faster than a 250 then why shouldn't they be allowed to race a 125!!??
