I saw this bike in person at the Maine State Championship race a few wks ago & it looks Fn awesome,& it looks better than these pics are showing. Tom was one of the 2 guys pushing me to get the 300 kit last yr. I got it like 8wks ago. I only wish I had listened to him & got it last yr!! I actually think I like this bike more than mine..... Great job Tom. It was fun racing with you in Maine also.

Bought this old girl last year for $850. It's a very, very low hour 1995 KX125. I just started cleaning it up this summer. Almost done. Here's a before and after. I'll put up another picture when I get the graphics in.

Tom, I think after seeing your bike it gave me to initiative or the energy to actually strip my bike down & start over. I hated the way the frame came out anyway & was just waiting to right the time to do it over & now is the time. I stripped it down yesterday morning & dropped the frame off yesterday afternoon to be sandblasted & re-powder coated.

What are you changing? I just picked up a '13 250sx and stripped it down. I was almost going to go with black but decided to do the frame BRIGHT orange.

I'm going with a bright orange just not neon orange & I'm putting all new orange plastic on it. I'm having my graphics guy whip me up something new right now so I can race it this weekend. Tom, you never thanked me for my bonehead move at Sundays race which allowed you to get 1st overall :-) You rode good & deserved it.

It was actually a 125, with a PC motor and Vortex ignition and it was fast! The only bike that can't be made into a 300 is the CR 250.

C'mon Travis, it is obvious that the grass needs to be mowed... how can you post a pic of such a beautiful machine in such a beautiful spot yet not photoshop and mow the grass...? Jeeez, we are nearing 60 pages so you need to step it up a bit. Just because you started the thread does not mean you get an exemption...

Done. It'll be a sort of work in progress for a while, but it's race ready now (except for the cable guide).

Got the frame back from being power coated on Saturday afternoon & I like this color much better. I threw it together with my old orange plastic so I could ride yesterday while TSS Graphics is making me new graphics. I think it looks better even with the old stuff on it.

digger, i think you are overdoing it a bit....
I am not saying that i dont like this bike, but there are more beautiful ones. yours is just too much (white spokes, black rim, orange/white hub, orange frame, white radiator hoses, bright/dark orange graphics....)

Sometimes less is more, that's why i also like older factory bikes more than today's. there are just too much stickers on them.

Dont get me wrong, your bike looks bad ass, but with all the money you invested in it (probably even less), i would have made something different Wink

Hello boys, here is my late entry into the game. This was a 53rd birthday present from my dear wife last October. It was a semi-clapped out 07 YZ250. My plan was to clean it up,tune it and slightly massage it to ride in the woods occassionally. However, one thing led to another and.........

I agree with almost everything you said... almost :-) I think KTMs look way better with an orange frame just not the neon orange that I did mine in. That's why I re-did it this week. My other wheels are in the trailer & will be going on it for Sundays race. They have brand new tires on them & I didn't want to practice on them yesterday. They are SM Pro platinum's with black rims & spokes & orange hubs & nipples. I told my graphics guy that I wanted a more traditional look & something more along the lines of what you might see on a factory teams race bike.

Digger, that's going to look great. Sometimes you don't know how far is too far until you go there. Personally I like the way a stock KTM looks, with just a pipe, nice wheels, and nice number graphics. I do also like an orange frame in the KTM color but have never done it yet myself, maybe on my next Katoom......Can't wait to see the revised project.

Damn.... looks JUST like mine, but the raw pipe sure takes it to a whole other level.

When I ordered my number combo I accidentally got red number outlines. It was sort of unique at first, but now I'm over it and am gonna go back to straight black ASAP. I also need to upgrade to a cycra plate!
