Your memory is failing you. At Lakewood KTM brought a Fuel Injected 250 for the first time, and his kept having issues. (Not sure if Kenny's was also fuel injected, but he kicked major butt that day)

You need all the power you can get and then some to ride good at that track. Between the altitude induced lack of oxygen and the huge step ups they built for the MxDN, you just can't be screwing around with a sketchy bike.
France had a legitimate chance that weekend but the bike failed them.
Roczen was still riding for Suzuki at the Colorado MXDN.

This is so dumb, i can't beliee it. We had a slight chance and now it's gone, nervermind nex year in the US. Do they really think Tixier getting waxed by a 16 year old Dutchman every week is comparable in any way, shape or form to what Marvin has acomplished in AMA Pro racing this year???

And Charlier does even worse than Tixier, and they put him on a 450?

Hopefully Paulin will win a moto to save the day, as usual.

You seem like a sharp guy and I know you're joking, because anyone who has ever read a history book knows that France has probably the most decorated military record of any nation ever over the past thousand years.

Wa should forget about Tixier in this discussion, the 23 year old rule just popped up to my mind so Marvin is too old for the MX2 spot. So yes, Tixier is the best pick.

As far as Charlier, i don't really know what he's capable of since i haven't watch a GP in years. I just know he was the next big french thing like three years ago but injurys slowed him down.

Maybe he could pull a Paulin à la Mantova; i believe that back then he too never rode a 450 on the world stage and was quite a controversial pick. But i don't really see it for Charlier.

Maybe the french fed thought that a factory Yam 450 (Charlier still rides for Rinaldi , right?) would do a lot beter on the statrts than a 350 KTM, but still...

Just trying to figure out the reasoning here, but it still doesn't make any sense to me. Even if Marvin has had a similar 2013 season to the 2012, being a fith place guy, i would have picked him. But for cheese's sake, the kid won three SX and two MX! His confidence is back where it was when he won the world titles.

Bullshit.

Gautier entered the last MX1 GP in Italy which he won (1-2) ahead of CP377. Cairoli wasn't there, I think It was a few days after his mother passed away...

Jah, the -23 y/o doesn't apply to the MXdN.

In an ideal world the team would be: Paulin (MX1), Musquin (MX2) & a healthy Frossard (MX3. But given Frossards persistent injuries I think Paulin (MX1), Tixier (MX2) & Musquin (MX3) would still be a very good team.

Tixier is a great little rider and deserves his spot after the season he's had, the surprise is fact they've opted to go with Charlier over Musquin. There must be more to it?

That was my First thought too

I'm of course really disappointed to not be part of the French Team for the Mx of Nations. It's a really important race for me every year, one of the only ones I'm able to participate in Europe and always a good opportunity to be with the fans.
The French Federation didn't pick me. I respect their decision to give a chance to young riders. After Jordi Tixier's good results in the 250 world championship series, I offered to ride Mx3 class thanks to KTM who would give me 100% support and the choice to ride a 250, 350 or 450 bike.
I wish the best to the French Team.

Based on what I saw at Finnish GP, Tixier will be a good fit for the team.

Charlier is racing WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP. Musquin stepped down to National championship. Easy pick.

Musquin is being too much of a nice guy with that statement. A 2-time world champ, SX and National winner who is having a good season gets swapped for a guy that has podiumed a few GP's? No disrespect to Charlier, but that is a piss poor decision and one that will probably remove them as podium contendors at the MXDN.

You're right. Paulin won his first moto at MXdN in 2009 on the kawi. I was talking about 2011 when he won on the Yamaha, my bad...

i have read some idiotic posts from some posters here and sometimes people say dumb things for no general reason... but almost every one of your posts that i've ever read here are the most idiotically mind numbing shit that i've read on a general forum, and that's saying a lot.
He is truly an idiot.

By his logic, the USA should send Leib, Decotis, and Osbourne since they are faster on GP tracks.

I'm not sure. I guess Marvin's attitude during the last MXdN didn't help his cause. Not much motivation and acting like it was no big deal. Happy to be part of it and being considered as one of the best but already on vacation in his head.

Seems there's something going on that we are not aware of, with a few exeptions, seems we are pretty in tune when talking about pure speed, chances for France? Him not being selected tells a story that we are pretty clueless what's going on really. I smell $/politics/egos. These events often brings out WTF is going on, remember the drama when Carioli almost didn't go because of a shirt/sponsor issue?

Yep. There's an interview of the FFM president (our French Federation) on motoverte.com concerning their choice. When asked why Charlier over Musquin, he doesn't really want to answer and avoid the question saying they had their reasons bla bla bla. When the journalist insists, he sounds really pissed and gets angry.

T'was true. I was bein' a Smart-Ass & you are correct, sir. Hell, the French Legions have a History of kicking some serious ass...all the way back thru European history, too.

Can he ride for Quebec is Canada went?

I was looking forward to seeing MM at Teuschenthal, with him and Paulin , one good ride from Tixier would have seen them in with a chance , Charlier is probably one of the worst french 'next big thing's' that ive seen , i still dont rate him over Jake Nichols, and i think that he hasn't delivered what he was expected to.

Obviously the FFM has issues with Marvin , there isnt a man on the planet that would pick Charlier over him (outside of the FFM) , at least we didnt pick our best guy cos he's been injured and isnt riding ... i'd love to know what reason the french have to come to that decision .

If its a money thing, you gotta say , without MM in the team , every Euro the french spend on the MXON effort is a waste of money.

Did you have some bad tea today Matt? You ARE ALWAYS a whiner.

Yeah Musqin sucks. It's not like he's 2X world champion or anything.

@matthew.hall.23 All the French people on this board think you should shut your bloody tea sucking decaying teeth mouth.

I mean, why don't you ever root for SEARLE, and, and, and, wait..... Oh i guess just Tommy really.

I don't know the whole story but it seems like a few frenchies here have been eating too much funny mushrooms. Even a retarded kid would pick someone who is finishing top 3 at the nationals over someone that is finishing top 10 in the GP's.

I just don't get it....there's got to be more to this story that we don't know yet. Huh

Strange decision... Who knows, maybe the US Team will be RV, RD, and AC. Mitch does like to have a PC rider on the team :D. (I'm kidding)
