My post got disappeared. All I said was that I would slap Trey upside of the head and make him delegate shit if a Nat came to Swan.
Newmann.... Swan would be cool..! I first thought that the pit area would not be big enough for the Pro Pits. So I used my CAD- GIS programs to outline the Pits as they are now. Freestone has just over 11 acre Pro Pits. Took the FS Pit outline and dropped it over Swans pit area. Wow real close, I was surprised. So I did a boundary for a Swan Pro Pit area and came up with just over 13 acres without including the RV parking area. There would have to be some grading and adjustments made but the space is there.
The big issue would be spectator parking (as shown in one of the photos) cars parking across the street, don't know if that is possible with the owners etc. There is quite a bit of room on the North end of the property, but again there would need to be a lot of tree removal and grading to park vehicles there.
I like Freestone and working with Tony at the National, maybe it will return. Only time will tell....
On a side note.... Zach went to Underground the other week and heard the owners were wanting to try to get some big race there! I could see a Regional there. Zach said if they got a National there the owner would build a levee / dike / berm etc., around the outside of the track to place bleachers on top of. The kids think this track is the BOMB!

Keep in mind Trey has it set up now so that you can completely circumnavigate the entire track in an RV.
He could easily handle the spectator turnout levels we saw at Freestone. And the fans can see pretty much the whole track from the bleacher area and the infield is accessible, as well.
We get a national out there and I promise you we'll get the operations side nailed down tight.
There are some big plans in place for some big purse races with lots of contingencies for amateurs coming soon though....
We will keep you posted.
The front pit at Croom hosted a Winter -Am or Winter Warm up round in 78, I believe. It was the only "event" I recall being held inside the state forest riding area. Rough does not begin to describe the conditions.
Then, you had the old Croom MX track at the Southwest corner of the park, which was just outside of the state forest property. They too hosted Winter Am races there along with outlaw and then District 8 AMA sanctioned events. Randy took over around 1982, and these were the twilight years for the track. This is just across the road from the Keylons place. The last race I attended there was in 1986. Rough, but nothing compared to the "front pit".
And finally, just a few hundred yards north of the old track across from Keylons, Randy built an awesome track, around mid 2000, that utilized the walls of the surrounding pit for some elevation change not common on most Florida tracks. This was supposed to be opened for racing, but never did open up for more than private practice sessions. Permits, neighbors , etc. ?
Chicken Farm was in Homasassa Springs ,Florida about 30-35 miles west of Croom. They were done racing there by 1984, as was Orlando Sports Stadium and St. Petersburg.
