Just from an outside observation, but what is the life jacket thing I see pee wee and 60 riders wearing these days? Are these mandatory equipment for them? Seems like they would be extremely hot.

They have pockets for cooling jell packs. They were neighbours on vendors row at the Mini O's a couple years ago.... good people!

A family member has one, I thought it would be hot too but he loves it. Says he can move a lot more in it than a chest protector and he doesn't get hot. Fits with the Leatt alot better too.

Not mandatory but I have definatley seen a bunch of them at the races recently.

I think it's more like what I've seen bull riders wear than a life jacket, but all the mini riders around NC wear them too ! Website says there made from kevlar and some other materials, I can tell you, I'm a Deputy Sheriff and it doesn't matter what kinda cooling packs they have for it, If it anything close to even the lastest technology of our bullet resistant vest, ITS HOT !!!!

It's like a flak jacket.

My son wears the "safety first" brand, they are all pretty similar. It's all cordura with high density foam core. Unlike a chest protector it wraps around the full rib cage and offers lots more protection. They displace energy much better that the plastic ones and don't apply pressure points to other areas when deflecting impacts (if that makes sense). They actually breath pretty well, it's over 100deg here during summer regularly and he doesn't say much about being hot.

I'm sure your boots are much hotter than slippers.

These are what both my boys wear and will continue to do so as long as I pay the bills. Both of my kids have taken brutal hits to the torso and walked away unscathed. They run them year round and no real issues with heat here in the NW even on 90 degree days. I like that the offer complete wrap around protection and hold everything snug but not so tight it restricts movement.................

Cool to hear!

I'm always amazed how guys at the local track don't wear much in the way of safety gear, I love riding, but i'm not gonna bust my ass for a hobby if I can help it!

Moto Armour...my son started wearing one last year on his 85. He's up to a 125 this year and still wears it. He absolutely loves it. Safety over fashion all the way.

The ice pack pockets definitely help. My dude is 7 and during the summer he always wears his with ice packs. He says it helps a ton...
