I heard Jimmy speak on the phone in Italy in the Hotel last saturday evening, he's comming back to the USA! He can't compete with the european riders... He said "those guys overhere are so damn fast, it's unbelieveble..." His contract won't be expanded as he siad and his words again, "i wan't to go home as soon as possible"...
It was a long conversation in the foyer from the Green Motel in Gergeno, Jimmy also told he was not feeling confident with the speed the european riders ride, his feeling was that he has no change and has nothing to do here.
Overall the impression was like he was having a hard time overhere in europe, There were no words about a bad team or wrong treatments, just a ougnest conversation about the difference between the USA and european GP's...
The one thing what stood out was he was quite serious about going back to the USA ASAP.
On raceday it became more obliviuos, he had not a chance, maybe cause of the heat or maybe lack of confidence...
I wish hem good luck!

This post is complete Horse crap. First of all Jimmy doesn't speak english exactly, he speaks with a strong Mass accent and there's no way you would've understood a word of what he was saying let alone pick up all you said you did with that detail. If you were standing that close to him to pick all that up he'd a told you to beat it.

I know this is hard for those of you that don't actually ride and have never rode or raced to understand, but this kid is coming off two major injuries. He broke both ankles when his semi factory Honda blew up just before his first full MX outdoor season. Then trying to come back from that tore his ACL and missed a whole year coming back from that.

He just got back on a bike a few months before the supercross season started this year and his results although rusty were very good on his privateer Honda. Clearly he hasn't had enough outdoor seat time in the last few years to go over to Europe and compete at his best. New bike, the other side of the pond, plucked right out of the middle of supercross. Not making excuses for the kid but for all of those piling on let's keep up with the facts! If you think you're seeing the best of Jimmy D right now you are sadly mistaken...
Not hating but the dude scored like one point in how many races? That trip to the gps was a disaster. You should delete the not making any excuses part...just sayin

Yup. He can do better, but that can be said as well for here as for where he is now.

Any of the guys racing here or there at this level are incredibly talented riders, including JdC, but some are better than others. The GPs are not a place someone who's not running at front consistently here shoud be expecting to cherry pick.

I have a lot of respect for both series but feel it would be much tougher for an American to be successful in the GP's then visa versa. Border, food, travel, huge variance of tracks. Here in the US it seems like a lot of the tracks are very similar.

I would love to see a top US rider such as Villo, Dungey, Alessi go after a World title and see how they cope with the challenge of racing overseas for a full season. Lackey was a warrior for going after his dream for so many years.

Same with Donny Schmit and Danny LaPorte. I really wish we could send someone in their prime ( like a top 5 national rider ).....but the thing is.....they stay here because they make a better living. I mean....it's a job , and the goal is to try and make enough to retire on. I know AC and Herlings probably make some serious coin over there.....but what do the other top GP guys make I wonder compared to the USA guys?

Hmmm??

1.) You just happened to be cruising Vital MX?
2.) came across this thread?
3.) just signed up today?
4.) And just happened to be sitting right next to Jimmy and listen to every word he was saying on the phone?
5.) AND....just felt like signing up like a good person and filling us all in huh?

PFFT!....haha!.......Dude , there is so much bullshit behind what you just said it's pathetic.

Jimmy is a great SX rider. He's never been an out door specialist and I don't think he ever claimed to be. Was he a fish out of water over there? Of course he was. And it you brought all those GP guys over here to race an SX race.....Jimmy would make 99% of them look like they didn't belong there either.

I do believe he's probably bummed he didn't do better......but you make it sound like it just totally , and utterly ruined him as a person. Haha.....this is some funny shit!

I wonder how long you'll stick around after this thread goes away?

And BTW........you heard Jimmy say all that stuff......but your typing and spelling skills are lacking to say the least. Maybe don't understand the English language to well? But you understood every word Jimmy said on the phone huh?

Riiiight. Wink Wink Woohoo Woohoo Silly Silly "Djerk" haha!

Leaving the content of his post out if it, that's just one hell of an immature response Jeff. The English language is very easy to understand to Dutch speaking individuals. Expressing thoughts and writing it is another kind of ball game to be perfect on.

Some guys are trying to express themselves and putting up a dialogue in an understandable manner to you, please have some respect for that. If they come out short, correct them so they learn. But laughing at it is just childish...

To be ontopic, it sux he did not meet the expectations of CLS (and maybe himself) the guy seems like a down to earth genion person. I hope he comes out stronger as a person after this adventure.

OTB39......just to be clear , i was not laughing at his language , I was laughing at what the entire post said ( the topic of it all....not the language ).And FWIW....I love most all my fellow MX brothers from across the pond.....and you will never see me slam someone because they live in a different country....Ever! I never have....and I never will. What my whole point of my previous post was....is I think the guy is full of shit. Think about it......he just so happened to be sitting right next to Jimmy as he was pouring his heart out on the phone? Just conveniently happened to cruise VitalMX and see this thread? And decided to be a "good guy" and join up so he can fill us all in on Jimmy's entire phone conversation?

Really? C'mon man.....that story is so full of holes it's crazy. If he was an anonymous American poster......I would have probably called him out more than I just did. I don't know the guy from Adam , and I very much doubt this is his first account here......which brings up the question.....who was he on his last account?

Like I said....maybe the dude is a good guy I don't know? I just don't believe a word he said.
Hi Jeff, This is a nicer way to say i don't believe you, thanks (still a little offensive, but ok ..)!

You can take doubts all over, quite understandable.

Point is that nobody knows an other one overhere, point is i can't prove any of my quotes..
You guys in the USA know how he speaks, how he acts and so on, i know what i have heard..... Don't believe me, you've got no reason to do but it's hard to try to speak out if anybody doesn't listen.
Just shout a lot and think in one way.
Calling me all kinda things, thats quite mature..... there are probably some crazy people overhere, do not react too quickly, perhaps there is also another person serious.

I'd say guys like Roczen etc would be attracted to win bonuses in SX if they feel they could take to it,I'm pretty sure the other top GP guys earn a decent living, just like the guys in the US,it would be interesting to compare,it must be more probable to want to stay over there if a guy has a good ride and can score points ok in MX and SX

Maybe the most viable candidates though could be those 3-5 place riders, the likes Canard,Alessi etc in a couple of years as they'd pick up a great GP ride,I'd love to see it

I've been to enough gp's to say I believe in you. Most the guys involved stay at a few hotels nearby, cause that's often the only option. It's not unlikely that a mx-supporter who made the trip to Italy last weekend happened to stay at the same hotel an a rider. It happens all the time.

I don't see it extremely unlikely that he heard a rider make a phonecall, and discuss his situation.

What does all this mean? It means JDC is going home to US. He didn't meet his own or his teams expactations. Sorry for both of them.

Feel sorry for Jimmy not to be able to show his potential but it really does take the piss out of the vitards on here who claim the World Championships are just some second rate B races to the nationals.Wink

Okay, thanks for the understanding! I appreciate it a lot!

If i may ask now, read again the quotes i've put down, is that something he would or could have said? In his situation.
I realy don't know the guy, fact is that me and my mate were pretty surpirised to hear an proffesional MX rider speak on his phone in a public environment about such an sensitive topic.
I thought it was a bit "unproffesional" but that's how look at it.

Maybe there are still people who don't believe me here, no hard feelings about that.

The thing what kept me thinking is, he was talking about not having a good time here, he wanted to have fun again on a bike... That could also means that the combination of CLS team and JD didn't work out.
Maybe the overseas differences/changes where to big?

He's an proffesional rider, he knows how to get fast on a bike, maybe its other things we don't know about what is going on.

I just hope he will get confident again and ride fast in the Nationals or Supercross again, and hopefully we could see him sometime again in lets say... MXoN ;-)

For 2013's MXoN, Teutschental.. I will be there and will enjoy every second of every race!!
It's a war indeed, but please no WW3 in germany i hope ;-)

Last years MXoN was awesome, the USA were doing their best but that was Lommel, Lommel is a hell... believe me been there done (tried) that many times... Herlings and AC are heroes there, Teutschental is much harder dirt so i gues the differences are even smaller over there so we got an even more exciting race comming up :-)!

BTW, the dutch won't be on a podium, we only have Herlings and Coldenhof nowadays... Don't know who we could bring over as a 3rd rider yet...

Thanks again for the understanding, Peace

No thank's!Wink Back in 1986 America sent the "Dream team" of Bailey, Johnson and O'mara to Maggiora for the MXDN. This year's three Americans at Maggiora turned in performances that could only be described as their "worst nightmare!"Wink Tongue

Kyle Regal was down on the MX1 pre entry list for Maggiora?...............anyone know what happened to him, seemed like a no show
"Worst nightmare!" actually their performance's were very reminiscent of how they did when they raced in the USA. You seem so starved for a top tier American or any American to come over that you fail to understand or look into their past results. Nothing new with Jimmy D or Jeff Alessi's performances this past weekend....
