Missed your opportunity to see the great Jean-Michel Bayle race?
He has agreed to represent France at this years Vets MXdN at Farleigh Castle in England, on a 1988 Factory 500cc Honda!
The other French team members - and by no means any less notable - include Jacky Vimond, Yves Demaria and Fredric Bolley. An incredible team by anyones standards.
In recent years we've had the pleasure of watching the likes of Stanton, Ward, Lechien, Hughes, Bell representing Team USA, so it'll be intriguing to see who comes over this year. Supposedly the organiser Dave King has been in discussion with Emig, McGrath and Dowd, but nothing has been confirmed as of yet. Apparently Albertyn is a possible for SA too.
If you're a fan of proper old school motocross or just a vintage enthusiast who love classic motorcycles, there is something for everyone and I cannot recommend the vets MXdN enough. This years date is the 14th & 15th of September. The nearby Roman city of Bath is the perfect place to stay and wander around, plus there are many other touristy things to do in the area to make up a nice little holiday, so get your flights booked!

Something about that era of motocross has been lost in the last fifteen years. Right about when 4-strokes came around, which may be a coincidence I can't say how much if any they are to blame. I know I'm sounding like an old codger.
When you're tourquing around the track at what seems like 3000 RPM in the corners it's just less exciting.

Now, if Jeff Stanton showed up and rode a similar bike this would be the best race in our sport this entire year.
Both bikes as always will use Pro Circuit pipes,and cylinder work,i already have the JMB one MItch gave me from "back in the day" to get the power to his liking,apparently Jeff prefers a more abrupt power delivery to Bayle.
I wont be working on the 111 bike at the event,the old mechanic from the GP days Jean Marie Hacking will be the man on the day,ill be looking after Jeff personally.
the biggest job is getting the 89 honda forks to work....
This years event is going to be immense, few of the 'old codgers' have lost any of their competitive spirit!
That would get JMB up to his old level of motivation.

the guys wont be working out of the same truck,i dont even know if theyre on speaking terms so no "big show" like we got last year with all of the guys under one roof,saying that i did get a call yesterday asking if i can supply a KX 500 for another american to ride-and i still have 2 left from last year that are still as new so there's still a chance we can get something going,team wise.
If you came over to Europe a week early you could go to the last GP of the season at Leirop in Holland on the 7th & 8th.
