desalle and strijbos this weekend

after a fairly good ride from both riders at thunder valley (considering they are just racing on their off weekends from the usual championship they compete in for fun!) - how do you all think they will get on this weekend? I think desalle will be a little disappointed that he didn't get round canard after chasing him for the full first moto last week, and strijbos probably will be disappointed that he crashed in the first turn (had a great ride through the pack though)- I think if luck goes their way and they both get reasonable starts, no crashes that they will be top 5- maybe even top 3 in a moto. Its got to help their case that its a new track for everyone and they've had an extra week to get used to the bikes- im saying desalle 3rd overall, strijbos 5th overall this week

got to add that its really cool to see both these guys racing in the ama just for fun! I wish more riders would go out of their comfort zone and race the 'other' championship! Be good to see some other gp riders give it a go, and also be good to see some ama riders have a crack at a couple of gps!

These two might get claustrophobic on what seems like a rather narrow trackWink

It's great to have them racing here. I hope some top AMA guys return the favor.

Only 3rd overall? I'll go one better. Desalle and Strijbos swap moto wins, while RV, Barcia, Stewey and Dungey fall apart in the heat and humidity.

Stamp it.

Brent, You feeling ok? RV and RD falling aprt in the heat and humidity, That's ridiculous. I think Desalle can podium but not from the Ryans getting tired.

I think they'll be in the same range, maybe a little better, maybe a little worse. They're elite riders. Starts this year are as important as they've been in the 250 class for the last few years. For what it's worth, the weather forecast looks like mid 80's with 50-60% humidity; that'd be about what De Reuver had to deal with at Sotuhwick, and these guys are probably fitter. Certainly doesn't look like Red Bud/Budds Creek/Millvile temp and humidi extremes.

fitter than De Reuver , would not be hard ,for most of the gp riders , i think the usa tracks kind of suit Stribos more old school mx than the way gp tracks hav gone ,and i think he could go top 3 ,and beat Desalle , was deff quicker last wk , and in brazil too , goooooo Kevin Smile

If they get the start, top 3. If not, top 5 for Desalle and top 10 for Strijbos.

Will either be closer than 40 seconds from 1st? Not a shot...I love that these guys are over here.....but we need someone to run up front and add some excitement to these motos.

Yeah, I would add one position to both though, don't see Desalle doing third just yet... Spices things up for sure. I kind of dig, if they mess with the top three in points though, like it would be funny to poke a bit on the standings. Or imagine if Desalle would take a bite in BobbyM suggestion and put RV on the ground. The board would light no fire! Smile

I can see Desalle getting third in a moto.
The American boys haven't seen this track for the most part so the playing field is evened up a bit more.
