We have 925 & 922 there. Where is AC 222?

Again it was pretty weak there was a no show of national riders when they had a chance to ride the world championship at glen helen but never mind

Maybe if some of the top guys from here went over to the GP's every now and then we could get some TV coverage on a channel that everyone has. I don't blame AC222 for staying home at all. Like others have said about the one way street is exactly right. Why should the GP guys come here when the guys over here rarely/never go there?

For a USGP it would take a lot of money! It would take big sponsors and a lot more purse money than what they pay back right now. A USGP would probably have to take place toward the end of the summer, not the beginning.

The US riders have a long season, 17 races for the Supercross, 12 races for the outdoors, plus the Monster Cup. That's why I said earlier that I would love to see the Supercross season shortened by a couple races and add 2 USGP. I know that will never happen, because once again it's about the money.

As a fan, I love the outdoors more and would love to watch the best in the world race against each other more than once a year.
Congrats again to Desalle and Strijbos on some great rides.

Why should he? Do you fly overseas to go work for minimal pay on long weekends? I am sure earns a great salary where he is, and to come all the way here to chance an injury for a very small payout would be stupid. He has nothing to prove.

Have you seen his girlfriend? I would be staying home too!!!!

You would almost think I was a guy that lives across the pond....I am not. I live here in the good ol' USA and I'm still going to ask you this....hope you come back with a good answer.

WHY.....would you put that kind of a question towards AC222.......and NOT towards our guys like RV , RD , Stewart.....hell , even RC didn't race any friggin' GP's! I'm all for our guys being the fastest and all......but guys like AC222 deserve respect for what they have accomplished over there. What's he got....like 7 world titles? And every time he races against our guys he gives them the race of their lives. Why should he have to come here to prove anything? When none of our guys are going over there?

When was the last time you saw two of our top 3-5 riders in the 450 class....head on over to do a couple GP's for fun? I'll answer it for you.....NEVER! But that is exactly what CD25 and KS22 did today , and are doing it again next weekend.

It's that type of mentality that gets our fellow moto head brothers from across the pond all pissed off....as it should! Show some fucking respect!

Actually, I like AC222 a lot and think he is a great rider and believe he would do good here. I understand he makes a lot of money and is comfortable in his series, so simmer down.

I don't have to go over all the problems with the GP's again as everyone already knows them. Plus, it's pretty clear where the best competition is at and the AMA Nationals is the fastest series in the World. There is a reason all the foreign riders say it's their dream to come to America and race! Have you ever heard a rider from America say the opposite? You can beat around the bush all you want but the writing is on the wall.

How many titles do you think he would have if he was racing against RV, JS and RC his whole career? We will never know and unfortunately he will always have that asterisk over his titles........

I for one wish we had the GP Champs in the Nationals. It would be unreal to see all the best together for a whole series.

right here.

it serves no purpose for him to come over here and get waxed. Americans dominate the ama circuit and he'd be a top 4 runner but rv2 would blow his doors off.

under the right conditions- the gp riders can beat our best. But those wins aren't too common.

i'd love to see herlings run southwick though. i think he'd crush.

===

i did get to see everts when he raced unadilla. Wasn't totally familiar with the blessing i was getting that day. (turned out to be his first and only ama national ever)

he went 3-5 and looked super smooth there. dilla is a euro style track though imo, it fit him well. off cambers and natural.

No he didn't. He just happened to win on the track he is best at and rides all the time. Dungey & Barcia had never ridden Lommel before. Cairoli had a huge advantage as did Herlings.

No way he beats RV and RD in an entire series.

Yes he did, he won and he won by a lot against the best riders in the world, track knowledge or not. Sorry.

Would it not be the same then if he came to the USA to race a 1 off event as you want him to? RV, RD etc all know the tracks and ride them all the time (over the years) and have a huge advantage? To me its your comment back at you.

I also don't remember ever saying he would win a entire series, I merely said he showed how fast he can actually ride a bike that's all.

Take a deep breath and read what I really typed in my 1st post, not what you wanted to read or thought I said but never.

When I am old and grey, which I am, I would much rather be able to tell the grand kids "I was a multi time WORLD Champion" more so than a National champion. Nobody but the hardcore fans have any idea that the US Nationals arguably have the best riders. To me the GP's are true motocross, dealing with traveling across borders, the language barriers, the food etc....the Nationals are turning into outdoor SX. I believe after a couple of seasons AC would be right up there with RV on RV's home turf, not sure if RV could do the same overseas.

Hey man where's AC is he scared
Why won't he race a national
I bet AC could care less

Ask yourself a better question why did none of the American riders show up to the usgp at glen Helen when they had the chance to beat AC on their own home soil

AC222 makes more money than probably double that of about 7-8/10 American riders, rides the best equipment you can get is loved in Europe and has beaten top American riders at MXoN. Why would he want to pack up and come to a country where he doesn't speak the language so well and start over at his age?

Same as Everts. Each to their own guys have respect for him he can twist a throttle.

How fast he really is at the Des nations? He didn't beat RV. And your right no AMA champ is going to go race a gp... I mean come on 17 rounds of SX and 12 rounds of MX oh and monster cup. That's a lot of races. Look at the gp schedule they almost get a month off between some rounds and that's all they ride is motocross. I respect desalle and strijbos coming over here. As far as AC 222 handling them, then what's more experience going to do to him?

Good discussion. But you will see AC222, he will be in the U.S racing in 2015 at Glen Helen for the MxDn

Sweet! Another one who starts his comment off with a insult! I feel like I'm back in High School again! Woohoo

Only weak people intentionally try to insult others with comments like, "smart guy, idiot, dumbass, retard". But keep it up cause I find it amusing when others try to make themselves feel better by insulting others.

Doesn't matter when RC moved up or what year, you clearly didn't get the point.

What would be good if say 2 rounds of the ama were combined with the gps at euro tracks and 2 rounds of the gps combined with the ama at american tracks , points scored to each series and an overall for the four rounds.
Then all the riders would have to race together , wont happen ever but would be nice to see.

He's not here because he's busy dominating in the GPs like he does every year. That's where his focus is. Although Desalle and Strijbos are amazing riders, Cairoli handles them on a consistent basis. Cairoli has a lot to risk by coming here. They don't. Judging from Desalle and Strijbos at Thunder Valley, Cairoli would have been 2nd or 3rd. I think right now Dungey and Cairoli are the 2nd best MX riders in the world, just a step behind Villopoto.

I agree. Being a die hard fan of the sport I just wish all the best were lined up at once, for a whole series. If AC222 won the championship against RV and Dungey it would really mean he is the best in the World. I really don't care if they race the Nationals or GPs just want all at once besides the Des Nations.

Ridiculous to think that RV would have given AC a hard time at the MXdN,

BTW did you know they have their respective nation championships in Europe and inviatioals too, they don't just do 17 GPs.

AC would be a threat for every race regardless if he was racing in Europe, Asia, South America, or at a US National. The guy has amazing skills and I feel he and Dungey would be battling for 2nd behind RV.

I understand why he doesn't and also know he's had some tough competition and those titles are hard earned. But these guys have the mentality of winning and being #1 in the World. Anyone that thinks AC's titles or being the best in the World don't come with a asterisk, is just kidding themselves and steering away from the truth.

Put it this way, if he raced against the fastest riders in the world in a full series and won, does anyone think we would even be discussing this? It would put a end to all this talk and I bet AC would smile so hard his teeth would straighten out! Woohoo

Just a joke! Laughing I'm really going to be burned at the stake now from all his supporters! Evil

People don't realize that he is actually one of my favorite riders and I wish more than anyone that he came to America so we could put a end to all those discussions. I still don't think he would beat RV but I guess we will never know! Sad

I know what you're saying but there's a reason for that which has nothing to do with the respective speed of each series. Top professionals like Roczen start out as fans before they make a career from MX, and as fans there are two major differences between the European (and countries outside America) fans and the American fans themselves. Firstly, the vast majority of non American fans don't claim that the GP series is superior, only equal but different. Most American fans claim that their series is superior. Secondly and more importantly in reference to your above point; the European fans follow BOTH series closely. Using KR as an example - Kenny almost certainly grew up watching and looking up to guys like Everts and the other top GP riders of his childhood, but also the top AMA riders like Ricky and later probably Villopoto himself. We know the GPs, just like we know the Nationals. We know the riders, the tracks, who's on form, who's injured... we know the differences because we follow both series closely.

Did Villopoto grow up watching and respecting the GP riders as well as the AMA stars? Almost certainly not.

In fact I doubt he even knew who they were back then and (rather surprisingly to a lot of us) he certainly didn't last year when asked while visiting the Belgium GP. It's hard to deny that you as fans (and therefore some fans turned Pro riders), don't live in a bubble compared to your European counterparts. I'm not trying to have a dig, but what I've said is honest and I'm sure there are many Americans here that will agree. It's not just limited to the sport of MX either. American culture is apart of all our lives to some degree.

It's unsurprising to see kids like Kenny have a natural bias towards the glitz and glamour of American racing. The money is good, it has SX and for many it fulfills a fantasy they had growing up of riding in large stadiums and living some exotic lifestyle in sunny California. But again that has nothing to do with the reality and relative speed of each series. They're just very different (in fact Zach Osborne himself said you almost can't compare them given how different they are and I remember Jimmy Albertson saying the same) but both are packed with talent.

At the end of the day it's pretty pointsless debating over something that's never going to happen, therefore it remains pure speculation
Sure you can shed your point of view, but until they race each other on a constant basis you may never know

Without facts, well like I said speculation
