Does anyone has the picture of Barcia's rear tire where it almost looks like it is a flat? Thanks.

No. Low pressure, heavy side loading.

I am sure that the pressure was indeed very low for the tire to behave that way. But are you saying that the factory guys are running the same tires than everybody else? I thought that I read an interview of Chad Reed saying that the scariest thing for him would be to ride supercross without factory tires?

I read what I typed, and what you're suggesting I typed, and they're not even from the same planet. I'm not sure how you got there.

On any given weekend in front of the Dunlop trailer, there's a sign with the top three finishers in each class, and the tires thy were running, and it usually reads something like, "MX51 Proto."

As for Tubliss...really? If I dug deep enough, I could find you a shot from years ago of Danny Smith on an factory Suzuki RM125, and the tire was doing the exact same thing.

Lol.. So there's no truth to that? Jason Ellis on Sirius radio was talking about that comment and those tires for an hour.

How I got there? Well, I suggested that you replied "No..." to my "Unobtainable factory tire" since your reply came right after my post. So was it "No..." to "It's a flat, right?" from Burn1986 (that you did not quote in your reply)? Confusing, isn't? Anyway, I guess that Barcia was running these "MX51 proto" on this picture that privateers can't get, making them .... "unobtainable factory tires". Anyway, thanks GuyB for all these valuable info's that you provide to us outsiders. Also, it looks like Chad's friend (JT$) must know also a few things that some here think they know but don't Wink And I doubt that you could abuse an $80 MX51 with a tube (or without).

At that precise moment..........................only the bottom of the tire...............................I would say yes, it's flat.

That is a really cool photo. Incredible to see what takes place at one nano second in timeDizzy And that happens how many times in one lap? Hurts my brain thinkin" about it.

I usually run 11PSI in average mx conditions. Wondering what others run. By the looks of that pic, that appears to be more like 7 or 8......which seems like it would cause pinch flats. I remember the article a few years ago in one of the mags about rim scrub, which was pretty interesting.

Front typically 12-12.5 across the board and rear is 10.5-11.5 depending on conditions. Mousse for outdoors is pretty standard nowadays. Mousses have come a long way in last 10 years or so.

Aside from pressure those are factory tires and not even privateer's can buy them. A buddy of mine races SX, 450's and is a privateer. They can get tires from the Dunlop rig but they aren't the same that the "Big boys" get.....not even close. SX is killing the privateer.....no purse money, no help or programs and now tires....sheesh. Soon there will be less and less local heros making the night show let alone mains.

I tried running mousses back in October. I flippin hated the feeling of the front end. It seemed dead, and the cornering changed dramatically. It felt like I had a flat tire. The rear I didn't really notice a difference though.
