Has any single thing had more negative impact on our sport than the noise associated with four strokes? The bonehead aspect is not setting an agressive decibel level for them especially considering what a performance advantage they have over two strokes.

That's a big one as far as I'm concerned. Noise from four-bangers cost me the last track I ran back in 2001.

Sorry to hear that. Lots of bonehead moves listed in this thread but as far as one thing that has had the biggest negative pact on the majority of us I have to believe número uno is noise. Back when the four strokes hit I believe they were 102 to 105 db and now we are down to 94 db. Three db drop cuts the distance sound travels in half so imagine how much difference this 8 to 11 db difference would have made if we'd started off at 94 or 96 db.

Dude you are out to lunch. The reason it was short and to the point is twofold: I'm a to the point kind of guy, and I was sick as a dog when I posted it and I didnt feel like typing much. I also didnt read any of the posts in the thread before I posted. I just gave my opinion like the OP asked. Ive been on this forum since day one, and for years Motodrive before that and it has ALWAYS been my opinion that four strokes ruined the sport for the average racer. And the Luongo thing goes without saying. Anything that guy does is off the wall nutty and only to serve his own massive ego and wallet. And while we ruining this good thread, why do you care so much about my opinion? Let it go bro.
