Someone is forgetting how dominant Honda is in the 250 class.... Besides, look at the tally of bikes in the field. Majority of them are Honda's so they must be decent. Usually the fewest are Kawasaki. Just because a manufacturer has titles doesn't really reflect the quality of the bike. Most people will agree it's the rider, not the bike anyway.

Honda doesn't really try to win anymore.

They field their premier race team of Barcia and Canard - great riders to be sure, but in the past they've usually had a proven champion onboard that could guarantee results.

They spent the money to revamp the CRF450 this year, and cripple it with leaky air forks, and a heavy choked-up duel exhaust that renders it the slowest 450 available.

They bailed out of Formula 1.

The MotoGP team hires whoever their Spanish oil sponsor tells them to.

I am a Honda guy. But there's no denying that the company culture has skewed further and further away from its racing traditions. How strange it must be for them to see KTM emerge as they have, just by doing exactly what Honda used to themselves.

You're confusing correlation with causation.

From 2004 to 2010, RC, CR, and JS won 82 out of 98 main events, and guess what, none of them rode Honda.

They also won 6 of 9 SX titles, and 5 of 7 MX titles.
