This immediately made me think of the throttle recall on my 82 KX 250... Instead of going to the dealer I replaced it with a Gunner Gasser throttle. Remember those? Smile

Gunner Gasser? Just lined one out the other day. Good Stuff! Not complete without a fresh set of Oury grips and a cable saver number plate though...Smile

Maybe DP it sometime with the bros while high-fiving.. as long as the most of the friction is coming from the fleshlight and not the other guys wiener-piece, it's not fag.

It happened to me at Central Village a wk ago & it certainly got my attention when the stuck around half throttle over the finish line table & I almost hit a fence cuz there is a very tight left hander right after the jump.. :-( I came in & took the top of the throttle off & the cable had dropped below the white plastic pulley & got pinched or stuck there. NOT GOOD..

This is one the main reasons why I log on to Vital. I always get a damn good laugh at lest once a day. Keep up the good work fellas. Now I have to change my shorts since I pissed'em I was laughing so hard.

That is not the answer to the problem or the reason for the recall. I put a stock Honda CR250 throttle cable on my 13 250SX right away cuz I hate the look of the way the cable is routed behind the handlebars stock. I have it routed perfectly & have just a little play in the housing itself so no problems there. There is no way for the Honda cable to jump out of the top of carb that I see. Sooo, I was riding the other day & I landed from a triple & the throttle stuck around half throttle & I over jumped the next table a little out of control. I slammed on the brakes right before hitting a fence. I noticed that the throttle was turning really weird & not returning at all. I rode into the pit & took the top of the throttle off & the cable had jumped off of the white plastic roller & became wedged under it causing the the throttle to stick.This is why KTM is recalling them.

For anyone who is interested. I didn't want to miss out on my first race of the year at my home track & I was definitely a little worried that the throttle may stick again so I took the plastic wheel out of a spare throttle that I had laying around from my RM 250 & it fit right in & it worked perfectly. You can see the glaring difference between the 2 when you look at them too.The cable will never fall off of the RMs plastic wheel.

So, it says 2013 recall. Any chance of this happening on the 2012 models?

I had some issues with sticky throttle when I put on a new Pro-Circuit aluminum tube. But it resolved it by filing every sharp corner on the throttle tube and in the housing. Don't want to find out the hard way though like that dude who jumped nearly out into traffic on the YouTube video.
