This sport is hemorrhaging right infront of our eyes. How many teams folded this year? What happens when the energy drink boom turns south? We're in the middle of this sport's death throes and you morons immediately chase away an opportunity to bring MX to the homes of millions of people.

In case you r-tards didn't realize, controversy and stupidity sells. You jackholes snub your nose at shows like Honey Boo Boo and Teen Mom, yet if you look at it this sport is just as backwards and idiotic as the people in those two shows.

You guys ever noticed the crowd shots from the Supercross broadcasts? Do you ever read some of the posts on this forum?

Last week two prominent figures in the MX community fought each other with a rake and a tire changing stand. Low rent behavior occurs all of the time in this sport. If produced the right way this stuff would be FANTASTIC tv.

It seems like you dummies are terrified of exposing this sport's true colors. I say embrace it; it might be this sports saving grace.
Oh, the irony. Calling out "dummies" while being borderline illiterate. You are definitely MTV's demographic!................

You're not worth arguing with because you think you are a lawyer and that this is a courtroom.

None of what you said makes sense.

Did you mean embrace or embarrass?

Straw man, again. You're pointing out my misspelling of embrace (I originally spelled it embraSe) as a way of discrediting my point.

And you're pointing out that I'm not worth arguing with, by continuing to argue. GFY.

I asked a question detective, hard to tell by the context of the sentence what you were trying to say.

I don't agree that playing on the negative aspect of the sport is ever a good thing. I don't agree with "bad press is better than no press".

Maybe doing what we could to change the image of the sport to influence better sponsors instead of energy drinks would be good instead if trying to get a PBR sponsor.

I can understand why some of you are getting so heated over this. MTV is an absolute joke. Do you really want some lady who assisted in producing Teen Mom, 16 and Pregnant, etc. to get her hands into Motocross and possibly make our image look even worse than it already does to the majority of people? What I'm saying is I don't see anything positive coming out of this. Just a bunch of over dramatized bull shit. Remember Bubba's World? Imagine that at least 10x worse. And there is your show. Like I said before Amy, with all due respect I really don't think this is your scene.

Understanding how closed off of a demographic is would be getting real. The vocal minority is always the loudest. There is a reason some shows work whether you like it or not. 16 and pregnant is definately not my kind of show but my wife and her friends eat it up. I'd have to assume we aren't talking about pregnant mx'ers here. I'd bet that the challenge of being that young and carrying has its own set of triumphs.

That said, this is the same network that produced and delivered Travis Pastrana even more to the masses. Do you also hate Nitro Circus? Or the shows that take real atheletes and help nobody's try to be great and teach them what they know. Moto was a part of that as well.

Who knows how they want to take the show, it couldn't be any worse than the behavior here and no less worse off than the wife swap episdode. If history, tradition, and mx value is what you want to hold on to and project out then stop being assholes and help the lady get the facts she needs so the picture is more in light of what you'd expect to see. If she is coming here then they are going ahead to make something at least to a pilot stage. Offer help, recommend good families that encompass what it is all about. After all you are all experts on who is who right? Dish up the families that would be best.
Nitro Circus wasn't produced by the network? It was produced by Godfrey and Fat Tremaine..

I'd fuck her.

Amy, instead of trying to make MX look bad with your white trash TV shows, why don't you let me have a go at you? You know, to make up for all the interning you had to do 'in the city' Wink

"16 and Pregnant" worked out well for the main character. Isn't she the one who admitted today that she recently filmed her first porn session?

TripleFive, I like a lot of your replies and you have some witty humor I love reading. The way you feel the need to play devil's advocate in every thread with different views gets old though. Have a beer dude.

That's a fair assessment, and I appreciate it. However, I think I believe everything I wrote here.

I guess I was just put off by the mob mentality that developed in this thread and my response was reflexive. Everyone shat on this girl who came here with good intentions, trying to make an interesting television show. While it's obviously not the type of entertainment that this crowd enjoys, some of her shows are undeniably successful.

I also question the strategy of immediately shunning outside exposure, especially considering the desperate state of motocross today.

In hindsight I should have been less aggressive in my reply, I'll be better tomorrow.

Cool enough reply. Please don't mistake what I said as doubting your intelligence! I believe what you have to say when it isn't an opinion or hypothetical. You almost always have me thinking both ways when folks start debating stuff and trying to see the other side a little.

Some threads aren't worth posting in though. I honestly think this one was worth skipping.

Triple Five, come on now. Do you really believe she has good intentions?? She has made a living off exploiting tragedy for money. You really need to step back for a minute and realize her only intention is to make money. What, do you really think her intention is to show the passion, love, and desire that goes into becoming a professional MX racer? Her only intentions are stacking her bank account through exploiting youth and creating tragedy. I say creating, because trust me, that's what they do. Nothing good can come out of this group of people making a show that follows mini dads around.

Even though Teen Mom exploited them they did give them a fair shot by offering the guidance of Dr. Drew who basically could have solved most of their problems if they would have just listened to him. It's a cruel world out there and situations like those exposed in Teen Mom happen every day. I see much sadder stories than those every day at work. All they did was put it on TV. It's up to the people in the show to decide what they want to do with their lives. Look at Jersey Shore. They would be doing the exact same thing regardless of whether there were cameras there or not. I like the idea. It would get the world talking about motocross. Be honest, you guys are just scared that it could potentially expose a darker side of our sport.

I hate to admit it but Amy just stumbled upon a gold mine with this project. It's too bad because there are plenty of families out there doing it right that will now be painted with the same broad brush as "those families" that we all know and loath.

I'd say it's a way for maci bookout to stay in the spotlight, and avoid a "real" job. She briefly dated Regal last year, and now her kids started riding. She was also in the other two shows produced by this crowd.

What a bunch of douches you guys are.

You have no idea any specifics on what this person is doing or wants to do. You just jump to conclusions like a bunch of telepathic morons.

You guys are the ones giving the community a bad name by your comments. If any of you fit what she needs, contact her and if you don't like what they are doing then stay away.

Listen to Triton, this place is not a place to get any type of professionalism. It is mostly filled of know it all weekend warriors. You have some here with valid points and know there stuff, but those are mostly outnumbered by dipshits as you can tell by some of the above posts.

Dan, how do you know what her intentions are? Did you reach out and contact her? You can tell all this because she is associated with a shows that you feel are bad?

What's worse being 16 and pregnant or being 16 and not going to school, parents on the brink of bankruptcy because you are chasing the dream?

Are you guys afraid that a show like this may show some of the truths of the sport?

Of course there are good families and some questionable, but that is life in any sport.

This response is what moto is all about.

We don't want to be trashy and shitty like those other shows, Mototrader is far above that!

Don`t worry, they will have hundreds of applicants. All the media attention will attract insane amounts of sponsors and the family will earn lots of attention and little money, as they drift appart in front of the cameras. The parents can remove the wheels off of their truck and turn it into a motorhome when home schooled Johnny Scrubbings doesn`t make it as a pro and has to find a job as a glory-hole attendant at age 19.

Anyone remember what the "M" stands for in MTV?

I know of a similar show that is being filmed right now following a real family who is racing the world minis this weekend. It is a good family and they got a lot more support from the MX community for doing the show.

Bikes, parts, gear..... the kid would have probably never received the support he has now. But he deserves it and rips.

hey Sunhouse,

Maybe the family won't make a bunch of money from the show, they probably won't be paid a lot for being the show. But maybe that family can get more sponsorships, money and attention to help little johnny get to the next level.

THIS IS THE SAME MODEL THEY USE IN SX!

The promotors don't pay the riders enough to be the show, but they will tell you they provide a place for you to expose your sponsors and that is where you should get your money. Ever wonder why the purses stay so low? With or without the show, chances are, "Johnny Scrubbing" will end up not racing at 19 and working a the "glory hole" as you so elegantly put it.

There are very few that actually "Make it"
